Glad I went. Thought we played much better than expected.

Midfield looked better than all of last year.

We looked more aggressive than last year. Tough conditions against a premiership contender. Will hold judgement on our game style for a number of weeks.

Lindsay my boy played a great game. He's gonna be that solid 200+ game player.

Felt at the ground we were the better team. So really disappointing we lost that.

Our forwardline still looks rubbish. Like i keep saying, Trac is our most dangerous forward. JVR terrible. Fritta and Chandler again not dangerous around goals. Good to see Jeffe get a couple. Not sold on him at all, but I guess we give him a good run at it.

Howes terrible. Cost several.goals. That little period before half time probably cost us the game.

Anyway, lots of positives and some frustrating remaining issues.

Chin was alright, when we're actually moving the ball and not pack crashing we play well, but being there it looked like nobody had any run left in our forward line.

Toby Greene ended up being the difference in that last quarter, I felt. An absolute gun, who I thought had a down year in 2024.

Overall I was very happy, not sure Rivers is going to hold his position with some of the new players coming in and showing a lot more.

McDonald will be hard done by to lose his spot to May but I don't see Petty getting dropped.

Agree. The effort and intensity was there and even with a young team in the wet skills and composure were solid.
Gawn clogging the forward line was frustrating, and as you say the conservative approach from defence was shit. Lindsay and Windsor took the game on and hey presto we make quick metres and generate dangerous shots, but that's the exception.

TMc was good as May's replacement. Man we need a good small/medium defender.

Greene and Callaghan were huge in the last and our stars couldn't get it done.

Forward structure was very confusing on a wet day. Thought Tmac/Lever/Petty were excellent. We are terrible at trying to hold on to a lead.
