I officially love the sub rule, i have seen 4 games of footy so far this week and I have loved the attrition aspect of the game!
Not sure if I like the sub rule but I like the attrition factor that it brings. I would have gone with an interchange cap which I think would have had the same result but without the possibility that one side could be significantly disadvantaged by subbing off a fit player and then suffering an injury.

But I think the effect of the sub rule has been overblown by the media.

Listening to the SEN post-game, Terry Wallace really doesn't like us

You'd get better expert comments out of mickeyblueyes than the Tanning Terry.

Tell him to achieve something before he wants to criticise others

Even if beams couldn't do much, we could have had someone else resting on the bench, even if he sat in the pocket. Sub rule isn't why we lost, injuries just crueled us.

Positive - how impressive was Bergs against 211 !!

And how many times have Shaw and Campbell covered Lions games??
Shaw obviously needs a new script for better specs and Campbell should know some names by now ffs.

Spot on. Andrew Raines is not Simon Black.

The channel Ten bosses need to learn that having those two commentate on Brisbane games is not pleasing to the ears of their customers in Brisbane. Dreadful

I liked both of them as players, but if they want to get more people watching, get rid of these two monkeys.

Big worries for Brown and Staker. Stakes had a look on his face that said 'gone for the best part of the season'.
In the first half I thought Mitch looked like he didn't want to be there.
And again Stiller was of little value I thought.
Beams and Bewick were outstanding.
I always really feel the joy for a debutant kicking there first goal and tonight we had 4,
that was special.

Seemed to me that Raines did a passable job as a tagger. Seemed to keep Mundy quiet and then was moved on to Pav whose influence declined as the game went on. Another positive, even with the obligatory shocker or two with ball in hand.

On a similar note, after being subbed on Buchanan did have a positive impact. Even if he was characteristically clumsy, he did contribute.

He did a decent job. I don't think many guys, if any really had a shocker. The biggest negative I can see is two very hard games in Victoria coming up, with the prospect of no Brown. That loss column could quickly build and the enthusiasm of the youngsters may take a hit.

Quite bitter sweet, so proud of the boys, but geez, what have we done to the Footy gods to deserve this? Funny hearing the commentators on radio banging on after the game about how impressive the Dockers were with their running in the last 5 minutes. Wonder why that was???

I jumped to my feet and screamed in joy when Hill was run down.

I stood in disbelief for the remainder of the game - atrocious beyond words............

Even the AFL's website called it for what it was in its periodic updates, "Caught with ball". Shame that hopeless rubbish could get something right that the umpires couldn't.

Just looked slow though. I was a supporter of his and thought that he has been unfairly judged. But he looked like the slowest guy on the field and yet he was fresh. When it is tight and physical, he is in his element. As soon as the game opens up, he looks off pace. Maybe a wet track specialist for us. I thought he did a lot well but the lack of pace is concerning.

Still, he did what we needed from a sub which was to make an impact.

according to AFL.com brown did his nose and staker did his ankle.

I'll temper that by pointing out that last time I checked (five minutes ago) it also seemed to think Beams and Clark made it through the game unscathed.

yeh and im pretty sure i saw staker with ice on his knee.

That was one of the worst decisions ever. The umpires really robbed Brisbane of the game. Brisbane can hold their heads high - the umpires cannot.

Gee the footy gods really have it in for us at the moment. We can't take a trick.

Staker could have done his knee or dislocated it, and Browny may have serious facial fractures.
