Dusty playing as a permanent forward, what was going through my mind to pick him.
Cripps needs 40 touches tonight, doesn't want to mark or tackle tonight. Walsh is every where. Just disgusted at myself right now

Brb searching the site for some wise words during presea-
I just want peeps to be slightly more patient. [...] people who are looking to burn an orphanage to the ground if a player they own is 10 points under their average by quarter time
This dude has the right idea

Stick a fork in me, the back line carnage forced a last minute structure change and panicked getting Walsh back in... Bad score is one thing but what the fu** is his role even? Seems to rack it up at will when he is around the pill but he is getting F all time in the guts.
He seemed to be playing as a small chf once Kreuzer went down and Casbault went into the ruck.

Tomorrow night's game will tell us if premos are capable of averaging 110 this year. Doch, Cripps and Dusty the only good fantasy players tonight so can't use really use this game to gauge fantasy scoring this year. I get the feeling the shorter quarters will level the playing field and makes me question spending money on the uber premos like Crae, Dunks, Whit, Grundy. Barely saw any junk time tonight

So for those who have Doch, Cripps or Dusty. Are you taking the VC.

Previous game length was 4x20 minute quarters (80minutes). Not 4x16 (64 minutes). Therefore, there's a 20% reduction in total game time.

Previously our bench mark for a Vice Captaincy Loophole was roughly around 120+. Given the 20% reduction, 120 is roughly 96 points.

So are you taking Docherty's rough 120 point game as Vice Captain?

No one's going to average 110 mate. Equivalent of 100 average this year is like 88

So the "new" stats on the website are garbage. It's a dumbed down version of the previous system, with no way to filter or sort by stats. And all the players are just in one big column?!

In this instance, Carlton and Richmond players appear to be on the same team due to colors

Nobody should be taking any VC tonight, not with Crae's record against the Pies. Cripps got 90 tonight without marking or tackling. Crae will have at least the same number of touches but a lot more marks and tackles. Crae, Grundy or Titch for the C

I think nobody can average 115 but 110 is still possible for Titch, Crae and Grundy. I'm worried about Whit now though because he isn't around the ball all the time. I thought Docherty was everywhere tonight and he still didn't even ton. I wish I went Dusty over Whit

I’m currently sitting 337/4, I’ve had Cripps, Dusty, Doc and Pickett.

It feels like a lower score but if I was to add an extra 20% onto that score I would be sitting on 404 had we have had the equivalent game time to any other year. It’ll take a little while to get used of the scoring.

I’ve got the VC on Cripps at 92, I think I’ll roll with Grundy tomorrow though.

Good point. Not running with Grundy, and not sure I can throw Titch straight into the role. So either take it or take Dunks.

So with every quarter being shortened by 4 minutes, that's a 20% difference. Means these are my adjusted scores for tonight:

Docherty 95 (118.8)
Pickett 60 (75)

155 (193.8)/2

Happy with that, but I'm gonna back in Zerrett with his elite PPM and go for broke. Can see him still going 100+, even with 16 minutes less a game.

P.S. Happy to see that there's always some constants in life - Death, Taxes, Footy and TheRednWhite and BJK#5 making last minute decisions that lead to quality commentary on the aptly named 'vent thread' :p

If scoring for the round is low but premos are the bulk of the score, scoring 90s-100s (like this game) won't their price just keep going up? Or would that be wrong?

Will this result in a lot of under-priced value players in 2021 ?
Very interesting, I imagine the magic number would work the same in reverse as we understand it to have been now.

Fantasy will either make the adjustment itself before prices are announced (i.e increase everyone's prices by 1.25 to return them to normal) or have them "priced at" a lower score (i.e 80) but still priced at the same percentage of total points (for example an 80 average this year is equivalent to 100 last year and therefore an 80 average this year will be priced at the equivalent protion of points, for example $700k). If the second were to occcur, the break evens would be wrong again, but would adjust in the first round.

A player who averaged 80 this season (100 normally) has a BE of 80 but given the extra points in Round 1 next year, that break even actually ends up being 100 again, meaning that he doen't move up in price.

For us Fantasy Coaches, we'll probbaly have to adjust, could be a good way to get a leg up on the comeptition, but then again, regular joe blow only knows someone is 700k not that theyre priced at 100 anyway.

Coniglio v Dangerfield?
Cogs by a nose
Danger will be good this year because he can basically go ham all game, shorter quarters will suit the burst impact players like Danger, Yeo, Zerrett. Crowd factor goes against Danger though. Cogs a little bit cheaper so I'm going him.

He'll rack it up on a wing or in the guts, but what the hell was he doing pigeonholed forward? Confused. He's going under 60 with that role. Teague mustn't like winning or prodigiously talented young players or something.

True to the name!

Hey guys, new to the board here and just seeking an opinion on:

Merrett, McCluggage and Anderson
versus
Dunkley, Lyons and T. Brown?

Anderson is arguably one of the few MID rookies (alongside Rowell, Pickett) with rock solid JS, although his Marsh PPM wasn't amazing.

However, T. Brown (whom the Pies seem to rate internally) would allow me to get Dunkley and Lyons who seem to have arguably more proven scoring potential and durability.

Would love some thoughts - cheers in advance!
