Wish I went Cogs (C), was switching between him and Brayshaw and picked the wrong one.
ZWilliams awful today, did not have a very good role. Was really focused on defending and not finding space for switches, hope he frees up throughout the season because I was backing him to be a serviceable D6.
Finished on 2152 which I'm stoked with, could have been a lot worse with Crisp, Gawn, Grundy, Dunkley and BSmith all underperforming. The recovery started yesterday with Worpel and Cousins, then today Cogs and taranto were brilliant. Hopefully that score is close enough to par this round

All the negativity around Smith amazes me. A score of 75 from someone who cost you 54.
I suppose you all expected 100 from him.
Just ridiculous imo.
I would've liked 80 just because it has a better ring to it but 75 is more than fine. People get greedy and short-sighted in this game, particularly in the early rounds. I'll take Smith's 75, just like ill take Mathieson's 80 and Z.Fisher's 84. They arent huge scores but they are well above their pricing point and thats the main thing you ask of your mid-pricers. If they can go 15%+ above their pricing point they will make some money and when you think about the affects of player's natural standard deviation and form lines then it is quite likely that a player like smith will make quite considerable cash.

Obviously there are 2 sides to the coin as poor firm can stunt any growth but yeah people are way too short-sighted this early in the season. Also, round 1 is the least significant round of the season when you speak strictly about pricing. Yes, its more significant in that you get to see your players in action before you consider corrective trades but thats a feature that isnt really quantifiable (at least not easily quantifiable) Particularly with no backline rookies scoring really well ill happily take Smith's score every day of the week.

Zerrett just didn't give a shit that last quarter, he didn't bother going in hard for the contested footy or laying a few tackles when the opportunities were there to do so. Heppell might be the better midfield option from Essendon if Zerrett gets a hard tag again next week.

Anyways, he's pretty much gone for Rocky if he doesn't ton up next week.

McGrath will be a solid pick imo for those who went there, the kid gut runs and makes himself an option for easy ball. Should get plenty of +6s, just the 84 today but played with the right intent. He'll be on my watchlist.

Devon Smith will be an upgrade target, he'll warm up soon. He might not go 105 again, but 95-100 is pretty solid still.

Taranto will be great for a few weeks, but will wonder what his scores will be like once Kelly and Ward return, particularly Ward. Cogs will keep racking up.

That 60 odd from Greene wasn't too bad considering his interrupted preseason, I'd persist with him for those who picked him.

85 is what I expect from him. I know it's greedy but I wanted him to end up at D6. He's priced at 54 due to injury only, he's averaged like 75-80 for 4 years. Thought some natural progression was well over due and the new kick-in rules would finally help him reach an 85 avg. I was wrong about him and Williams, they will need to be upgraded. Should probably only have started with one of them.

It is one week - not 15. What are you going to say if he scores 100 next week?
Such an over reaction.

Looks like 2214 all out

Zerrett the main and probable only downer, Grundy and Gawn wasn't a big deal in the end considering their mass ownership

Boak, Sloane, Lloyd and Captain Cogs the stars of the week

Whitfield, Brayshaw, Danger, Libba, Cousins and my onfield rookie calls all solid too/doing their job

Hopefully can build on this probable decent starting rank and the likes of Witherden, Smith, Grundy, Gawn, Heeney and Dunkley squeeze a few more points out next week

Not sure on Zerrett, was not impressed by his performance today. Potential round 3 trade, doesn't look right. If I trade him before he falls in price I might grab him later in the season if he starts running out games better because we all know how good he is, but he took nearly 2 months to shake off his concussion last season while Zorko was horrendous to start off with too, these two contributed to my poor end of season rank (was ranked at nearly 4000 after round 6) . Zerrett to Rocky round 3 would give me over 130k which would be handy for early upgrades

Finished on 2174 which I'm happy with considering I had Moore, Lycett and Greene. Big props to Cogs (C), Rocky and Sheed.

My biggest positive though is it doesn't look like I will be needing many trades to fix up rookie selections. Only one problem there is Burgess.

Not worried about Moore yet. Going cheap in my backline was important to my structure. Lycett spent most of the time in the ruck and other rucks haven't been killing it yet and too early to panic on Greene. Still scored in bunches.

Hanley and greene my 2 disappointments
Will give them 1 more week before pulling the trade trigger
Would hold Greene, he was always going to start slowly, but 64 is pretty solid considering his role, lack of fitness and that he's scored 50s in the past when fully fit in the same role. Can't see him averaging more than 80 first 6 weeks, would expect him to finish the year well though.

Fair enough on Hanley, he barely touched it the last quarter, I think for his sake he would just want to run out games and not break down again.
