I noticed Short down there later too. Did he shuffle back when Ross came on?
I thought Short played well.
Kmac not bad either. A couple of good frees that slowed Carlton attack.

I remember a bit of play in…was it the second or third quarter? Short and Rioli just bounced off half back, straight through the middle with their speed, it didn’t end in a goal, but my gosh it was awesome to see. Half-back is Short and Dan’s positions, I hope Dimma just stops with the short in midfield experiments and just let them destroy teams off half back, the two of them are going to be menaces this year if Dimma just keeps them both down there.

umps (with a bit too much look at me).....very harsh on our boy Dusty tonight, he tried to bulldoze a few times and was pinged

yet cripps does exactly the same thing and hogs the ball for an eternity and he gets away with it after the ball dribbles/spills out.

The Baker tackle on cripps charging through was awarded. A bit generous I thought.
Oppo players are right onto the Dusty fend off. They are hanging on to the arm. Either get more power or maybe its past it's use by date.
Anyhow I thought we won in the middle. TT was insane. Complemented Prestia well.

Taranto is a beast.
Balta is clueless as a defender.Watches the ball instead of where his opponent is.
To lesson the load on Lynch considering Jack is on his last legs.The sooner we get Tarrent/Gibcus back the better.
Move Balta fwd.

Is lost up forward and lost down back. Has no idea how to provide help defence. But is still learning. It does take a while to gain enough confidence to know when to leave your man….and last night was a huge challenge for him. Arguably the best key forward combination in the competition.
I’m still not completely convinced he will be out long term full back, but right now he’s the best chance at being it so need to stick with him.

Only change has to be Mansell out and Cumbo in. I thought Mansell made one or two nice contests but compared to the Mosquito Fleet of 2017, he was super lacking.

Yet Saad gave up 2 goals too perceived pressure he was under.Precisly why Man sell was selected.

Another thread for the teenagers and the one old bloke on here who always whinge about the umpires and blame them for every loss.
Bolton cost us.

And then tried to do far too much and gave away a free kick a minute later.

I'm getting a bit over reading it. I do believe we are adjudicated more harshly than other teams, but the constant whinging and carry on is incredibly draining. We just need to move on and accept the fact we cop it more strict, clearly whinging does nothing about it.

Thoughts on the game:

• Terrible game to watch, exciting finish. Probably got a bit lucky in the end. Neither team played well so a draw was what both teams deserved.
• Need more from Hopper, Taranto great start but work on your kicking ffs
• Bolton scored well for me in fantasy (a gamble I hope pays off) but I was not impressed with his game at all from the ground.
• Rioli is a gun

Roast: I haven't been at the G since pre-COVID days and I know they are trying to keep food costs down to help the average punter but as a result of that the old chicken burger that they sold is a thing of the past. It's now so much smaller and they don't even give you a full box for it.

In the final hipwood played quite well on Balta.
Both mark well. Hipwood Kicked straighter than McKay.
What's a win for a KPD? 3 goals or less.
On TV I couldn't tell where Miller played.

Who was Dan on? Martin? The fact that Martin did jack probably says a bit for his defensive ability, granted Martin has never quite hit the straps a lot of people thought he would.

Shorty can defend if he needs to.

I prefer Pickett off the wing with Kmac, I’d like them to stay there. Kmac always does the 1%, he’s just criminally underrated outside Richmond lol

I’d like to see one of Clarke, Dow or even Cumberland as the sub over Ross. I like Ross, however he’s a slow starter, he needs to work himself into a game, unfortunately there’s just no place for him in the starting 22 at the moment.
