You’re right we didn’t play the pressure forward, but guess what , we lost our final.
We lost our final because we stuffed up. That Daniher goal was as poor a defensive effort from about 3 players (Tarrant mainly) as you will ever see, and Lynch missing from 5m out. We lost because we couldn't get a clearance to save ourselves. We won the last the games of the season, granted against average opposition, by an average of 55 points, so something was going right.

u play cumbo lynch dusty jack in the same forward line one of em will get off the leash every week 100%
i agree.

cumbo kicks 4. dusty, lynch 3. jack, bolton 2 apiece.

we'll kick 20.12 (132).
but they'll kick 21.15 (141).

we need players who can stop the ball pissing out of our defence at warp speed, like what melbourne were able to do to us.

our backline can only do so much against quality entries. our inside midfield is fine, and we can tidy up our delivery, but our transition defence won't matter if we allow teams easy defensive exits

I'm not all negative nancy as some on here after Thursday's result. Fact is when the team dominated from 2017-2020 the defense kept oppos to 60 points or less they won a majority of matches. Sure up the forward entries and start hitting the scoreboard and they should be well placed going forward. Still got Gibcus to slot back into the back 6 after the bye too

I did.
Couldn't even win at our 2nd home against our bitches with said star studded fwd line.
Next game we draw without Cumbo.
Maybe we should drop Dusty for 4pts.
I would drop him if he shite again this week

Quoting practice matches as evidence is no evidence at all. In that Melbourne game I watched Hopper let his man stream forward without even an inkling of an idea to follow him, which he would never do in a real game. Mansell in the meantime had a good game against Melbourne but was largely ineffective against Carlton.

Mansell was tried as a pressure/small forward in the VFL last year which lasted 2 weeks. This will go the same way. No slight on Mansell, he's a backman.

The hoodoo got broken in a 2020 final.
The 2022 final Dusty was underdone and we lose Prestia at half time. Edwards the sub. Sonsie and Ross good debuts. Average debut finals games from Cumbo, Gibcus and Miller. But debuts nevertheless.

Interesting that no fringe mid/fwd trained the preseaon house down well enough to be selected. I would've rewarded Clarke. Hold Ross and others back. Especially come off some level of injury.

I presume the club have pressure measuring devices . Incumbent Cumbo vs Mansell. I'd've given Cumbo every opportunity to reach an appropriate level. Anyhow games in the VFL to work on other stuff does work at RFC.
I watch and wait

I reckon Clarke is next cab off the rank.

Expected scores had us winning the game 77-58. Just need to clean up the last kick inside 50 and finishing and we'll be looking good.

I think we had pretty similar i50's first and second half, if we'd just kicked the 6 goals in the first half same as we did in the second half, we would have won by about that amount. And six goals from 30 odd i50's should be about the minimum you'd expect.

Prefer his mum Rachel McAdams.

Superb debut by Tim.
The only concern I noted was that sometimes he left himself blindsided, with the potential to be KO'd, from behind by a dirty hit.
Hop has more spatial awareness.
When Dusty is in a potential collision, ie sliding on the ground, he extricates himself very quickly.

I’m all in on our team.
What I am negative about is the umpires.
Let us pray they don’t ream us.
Usually after a more normally umpired game for Richmond (6 frees against in a home game),they usually come out and go all in on us.

Am I being a bit lose?

P.S. Yes I am,I just posted this in the wrong thread.

If Dusty plays that "shite" every week he will be the No1 ranked general forward in the AFL and be a lock for All Australian according to Champion Data:

You were saying ?

Best in the game. And he had a crap game.

Wonder what happens if he ever actually plays well?
