To an extent yes, but if the opposition is better on the day, we need to go back to selection and ask the hard truths as to whether everyone was at their best.
Sure, we could have a game where everyone on the field plays a blinder and we still lose, but when has that ever happened?
I personally don't think you'll ever get a game where everyone has a blinder we win or lose - just doesn't happen in sport let alone the AFL.

Kind of a bugbear of mine as it's a complete myth and shows people have never played sport before (not having a go at you in particular). I think it's a result of fantasy football and video games where people expect players to perform at 100% every time they take the field. There are just too many variables and nuances in AFL and the way we play in particular.

I.e. If we lose and Mansell has 5 touches and little impact offensively yet does his team role by limited a half back for Carlton, everyone will scream that we lost it at selection and Cumbo should've played instead of him. Conversely, if we win with Mansell having the same impact, selection was right?

This is VERY long way of me saying the Mansell (or any single player) selection won't be the reason whether we win or lose.... although, if Short or Graham get a non contact injury in the first half.... then go nuts, that is a poor decision.

With an extra ump wanting to seem relevant, their will be even more frees particularly towards forwards. Expect Curnow to kick 5 tonight - 3 from free kicks. Put your money on it!
Nailed it all in ONE!!!
Xtra maggott will want to be relevant to be seen earning it's money!...be prepared for the rolled eye-ball, 50 meter dissent! 50 meter penalty for body twitch manning the mark...5 borderline infringements by tigers running past the man on the mark, exclusion zone...cm purrfect!

sanderson says we've been worked out and chris salt worked out a way to beat us last year reckons other clubs have too
WTF?!?!?!??!!?!?!
What is it with all the RFC Team attention?!?
We are not 2022 Premiers?!?
Feck we live rent free in a lot of heads...

If they penalise our backs for tiggy-touchwood grazing of arms and ruffling the forwards guersney in a marking contest but completely ignore the flagrant push in the backs they usually allow forwards to get away with against us - I'll spew.

Will have a bucket ready.

Graham coming of limited pre-season and no real match sim/praccy game is a huge worry, as I'm not even sure at his best he's in the 22 let alone underdone

I'm not a huge fan of the Mansell decision, but I understand why we are going that way given the rest of the F50
Cumbo is the one I'm most disappointed about, and it's not Mansell's selection ahead of him, potentially JR's selection I'm worried about

I am excited to see Short on the wing, I have been calling for it for 2 years now.
Interesting the Pickett is named on the bench rather than starting wing, so I wonder if he rotates through the wing or plays through the middle like he apparently did in match sim before his niggle.

On these one's prodigy , I can see why you maybe question Short, but IMO Shorts output, even at the end of last year was well above KMac's output, but we seem to mark Shorty a lot harder. Everyone seems happy to give Kmac a pass because he's a good bloke and he runs hard, but his output to the team is well below Short IMO.

I would rather see a kid replace Kmac than Short
The reason why KMAC isn't harshly judged is because he works his butt off

Yeah I haven't questioned the Mansell inclusion FWIW. I can see why he has been selected and understand it.

Just listening to Marc MacLure …. he thinks TT and Hopper are 27-28yo 🤣. Then even Gerard starts saying ‘i think Hopper might have a bit more than that’ …. even though TT is about a year younger.

FWIW … TT turned 25 in Jan and Hopper 26 in Feb.

So only a lazy 2-years younger than MacLure thought….They are 2-years and 3-years younger than Crippaaaaaaa who turns 28yo in 2-days.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious. Last year teams walked it out of our F50 far too often. Mansell is there to put some pressure on and lock it in
