Thought the exact same thingMy first thought was TRON.
It looks more Aztec than Indigenous to me, but I'm just a white Australian so what would I know?

You misread that.
I thought that too!It looks more Aztec than Indigenous to me, but I'm just a white Australian so what would I know?
Which is rather interesting. The cliche idea is that all Indigenous paintings are made up of circles, swirly lines and dots. Which is entirely untrue. Each "tribe" and nation had their own artistic styles. Some had the aforementioned ideas, but some used straight lines and 90 degree angles.Very nice, however the only not so great thing is that the design is very hard to make out, especially when you consider there will be a number on the back where the artwork is most visible.
Also our first Indigenous jumper to not use the stripes in some form as part of the design.
I had no idea it was Technology RoundNorth
Perfect, then. The red of the Aboriginal flag didn't look right on a red guernsey. The retail version of the Dees Indigenous Guernsey will not include the Recongnise Logo and the 2 flags.
Typical Freo.No changes to the Freo jumper this season.
Reminds me of the iron on patch logos they used to use in the early 2000'sWhy does the AFL logo need such a big white outline?
They only do it for Indigenous guernseys so I assume it's just so the logo stands out amongst the busy design. Why does the AFL logo need such a big white outline?
It happened last year too. Although it was only on BLK guernseys. But otherwise, probably what LeeARM saidWhy does the AFL logo need such a big white outline?
*sigh*
i was at the team store today, they've already ordered in the same Guernsey's so they are sticking with it this year. wasn't a priorityMy only source is someone on facebook who claims they talked to someone at Freo, but apparently Walters and Johnson wanted to design a new jumper but were knocked back by the board.
The indigenous round design from last year is my favourite Melbourne jumper, so it's become my default choice. This years one is looking pretty likely to surpass it though. This is a very good point. The game is becoming very political now... it's a slippery slope.
How many of the indigenous guernseys look so good though, that someone is going to buy it and wear it to the game each week ahead of their normal jumper? I could probably count on one hand. The only people I think who would genuinely willingly purchase these indigenous guernseys are: 1) collectors and people who worship their club and buy everything from guernseys to teatowels, 2) family members of the designer/players, 3) young Indigenous footy supporters who feel a connection to these jumpers.
How many white guys do you see wearing indigenous jumpers when you go down to the G on a Saturday?
That G definitely looks like an afterthought. As if someone would mistake this jumper for another clubs without it.Better look at the GWS jumper.
Not sure of the exact reasoning, but has been the same on each of our indigenous guernseys that have featured the logos on the gameday tops.I genuinely wonder why, wouldn't that be an inconvenience in production?
Such a good looking jumper! Some very good ones this year.Better look at the GWS jumper.
