I thought McStay might only miss the 1 week. I think Hanley has to come in, just too many injuries. Maybe put Hanley as sub. Rich hopefully stays in, Redden could hopefully come back in. My boy Mayes back in and Cuts. Harwood stays in.

IN: Hanley, Mayes, Redden, Cutler, McStay
OUT: Rocky, Aish, Adcock, C. Beams, Dawson

Always look on the bright side people, we will get to see some new kids this week. Think Beasley will get a game as well as Hammelmann, I'm excited to see them play.

Thats how we got through the 1st few years.

Good luck guys. Have a soft spot for the Lions. The only ones of the alliance that doesnt get cola and the 1st victim of eddies agenda.

The club has a big call to make on Hanley. Has proven to be a tough character but to bring him in for one game than a bye seems to be a massive risk for me. Hopefully the club can make the right decision.

Looking at the latest updated injury list and reserves report on the Lions website, here is what I predict the changes will be:

OUT = Adcock, IN = Hanley
OUT = Rockliff, IN = Redden
OUT = C. Beams, IN = Golby
OUT = Aish, IN = Cutler

Redden, Hanley and Harwood are all down as tests, but I am assuming at this stage that they will play. If they don't, next in line would probably be Mayes (not sure he is fully fit yet) and Bourke (who would have to be promoted) and then are guys who have yet to debut.

Yeah i dont see the benefit of playing Hanley as the sub. Surely it would be better for him to get close to a full game at the slower pace of a reserves game, Get his skills down pat and then back into the ones the week after the buy

IN: Mayes, Cutler, Golby, Bourke/McGuiness
OUT: Rocky, Aish, Adcock, C. Beams

Leave Hanley, Redden, McStay until after the bye. Not worth the risk.
Not even sure I'd bring Mayes back in yet.

Nice preview dlanod. There is a threory that injuries are no less likely in the reserves than in the seniors. If Hanley is ready to play we may as well pick him but use him sparingly. Either way I doubt we can win.

I think GWS would be ripe for the picking this week if it weren't for our injuries. A few bad weeks leading up to the bye wouldn't be much of a surprise after their great start to the season. Unless a few of our players make miraculous recoveries, GWS need to have an absolute shocker for us to win this one.

I'd dispute that injuries are no less likely in the reserves. Reserves is at a less intensity against lesser competition. Bodies aren't hitting with as much force later in the game and probably hitting less often as well. But basically my main evidence to the contrary is that by far the majority on the injury list falls into "injured before the season" (both Hanleys, Freeman, McGuane) or "injured in the seniors" (Close, Merrett, McGrath, Staker, McStay, Redden, Adcock, Aish, Rockliff, Gardiner, Beams, Harwood, Rich). The other category is basically just Paine, Maguire (punched in the head) and West. (I may have got some categorizations incorrect because I didn't actually go and look them up.)

I hate kittens! And it's cold. Only bright spot is I will be out of Foxtel range for the weekend.
How can you hate kittens? If you drive a VW beetle and like playing with fire, please ignore my question! :)

Nice preview dlanod - but please no kittens in the game day/review thread.
  • regular seat at spotless, $$$
  • food, bevies while sitting there round 10 - 2015 versus Lions, $$$
  • selfie with you sitting there in Lions jumper & confusing the beegeezus out of the surrounding regulars... Priceless!

Great preview.

Cute kittens.

Might have a bottle of rum or two watching this game... as I will be home alone, curled up in the foetal position reciting "winter is coming" over and over again.
Go Lions.!!.
Love ya anyway.

what a coincidence, me too.

not the love ya anyway part, personally I'm not that affectionate with dlanod at least not yet anyway

I've planned to play golf on Sunday arvo with a few mates. I don't think I could handle watching this one.

Was up in Queensland last week and stayed at Royal Pines, played golf there for a few days and also played at Lakelands. Lakelands is a great course, shits all over Royal Pines.

I don't play on high quality courses like those ones. I am a hacker so I don't go to the expensive courses.

Royal Pines...fairways as wide as anything...greens, whilst they are tiered, are massive. Very easy to hit GIR. Good for a social hit but wasn't very impressed with it otherwise. Lakelands :hearts: Nicklaus course.

I shudder to think how many they'll get to this match. ~9k ballpark I would have thought, or is that being generous.

Probably a bit high. Brisbane doesn't have a lot of travelling fans so it'd probably fall into the 7.5k-8.5k range if the weather is ok. Lower if the weather is crap, but a result in the 6,000s wouldn't have surprised me last year. A slight uptick in crowds this year because of the onfield success.
