Rocky says Hanley will probably captain the senior side this week. Great news!

I was originally thinking he should come straight in but after thinking how shit i would feel if he re-injured himself for a game we will 90% lose anyway, am now thinking he should play in the ressies for the next 2 weeks and come in after the bye.

Match sharpness is probably the biggest issue. Would like to think he's 100% fit (in terms of health) right now.

....as a player you would understandably be feeling pretty low at the moment.

LIONS!!

The other way to look at it though is that guys like Golby, Harwood and even Bewick would be looking forward to the opportunity to get a game/extended run of games.

From the sounds of things Hanley's injury isn't something you could re-injure like you would a hamstring or broken ribs.

IIRC it was a hip cleanup that proved to be more major than expected, so not an injury as such but really just impactive surgery.

Play an 18 man defence.

First goal wins.

For those not able to see it: "Lions to blood some new faces this week. A couple of rookie upgrades today. Debut for Hammelmann?Beasley?" - Greg Davis

They might just be to cover for a couple of the guys returning from injury, just in case they are late withdrawals. I hope.

We don't tend to upgrade without playing them, so welcome to the team.

They might only be playing though if Redden and Harwood are late outs. Hopefully.

Although Hammelmann might be because we need someone over 190cm in our forward line.

AFL Media hinting it may be Bourke & Beasley.

Bourke played all his Jnr footy as a Forward, and at this stage he would be a better option forward than Hammelmann.
If this is what happens & McStay is back, then maybe as a Defender ?
