Ok, so this is my fourth live game in a row. I've so far seen us win one quarter in that run.

inb4 - the confidence, the hype, the letdown, the Leppa hate.

Either we'll win or we won't.

Either we have the ball, they have the ball or the ball is in dispute.

Expecting nothing today and not forecasting anything......aside from that tiny, flickering candle of hope that we put it together.

I'm going in to this game not expecting much, it's easier that way. Also, if they do win, it'll make the feeling all the more better.

Go Lions.

4 goal loss I think. Same as usual we won't capitalize when we're on top and we'll go missing for patches of the game and let them kick multiple goals. Maybe we'll get a couple of cheapies towards the end of the game.

Freeman to have 5+ shots on goal.

I'm going to the game and expecting a win so i am setting myself upset to be disappointed... Really their will be no better time to play Carlton. Sure they had a super win last week but they ran themselves silly being two short on the bench. I think a few of their players look a bit knocked up with many of them taped up from shoulders to ankles. If we get beaten by more than 6 goals today i think it says everything about where both sides are at.

Does Mitch Robinson take Gibbs or Cripps? Hope Freeman can kick 3 or 4 today. Stef needs to have a big game. Good luck JJ in your first game. Go Lions.

I'd vote Gibbs. He's more damaging. I think at clearances though Robbo should get a license to forget his opponent and attack the footy. This way he could also reduce Cripps' influence by beating him to the footy.

Robbo to Gibbs for sure. Cripps is one of their better clearance mids, but i think if we can lock out Gibbs from getting involved we should be able to just back our other blokes to win their share of the footy.

Our forwards need to have their heads in the game and make sure the likes of Doc and Simpson dont rack up ball and do as they please. They will impact the game from HB if our forward entries are rubbish and we pay them no attention.

Really hoping Rocky can get involved up forward, and Hanley and Bundy can really get the ball moving from our HB line. NRobbo and Squiz to run hard as the wing/link players, mids to work down the corridor hard BOTH ways.

We also need a bit of composure with the ball today. We gotta move the ball effectively but not over do it and give the Blues chances they shouldnt get. I think if we are a bit more measured with the ball going forward it demands our players to move and work harder, rather than just waiting for the ball down the line. Make position, lead, create space behind and set up for a switch, give our ball arrier options.

Hope the boys do well today. Jodes flew over from Perth with her Dad (nicks Pop) as their birthdays are on the same day. Heap of our family driving up from Bendigo to watch and support as well which is great.
Hope they all crack in today as we do well when everyone contributes.

Random question, maybe you guys can help answer for me. I'm in Melbourne at the moment, having gotten eye surgery yesterday. I can't get my eyes exposed to any water....and it's raining here in Melbourne. Just curious if it's a sure thing that the roof will be closed at Etihad...if so, I'll definitely go to the match. Don't want to take the chance of sitting there exposed in the wet though if the roof will be left open.

Just curious. What did u get done. I beleive the roof will be closed. However the trip to and from might be a concern.

Roof is closed. Lions tweeted something about it this morning.

Going today and expecting a win. Can't believe we're talking upsets to a side that finished below us last year and on the bottom. They've definitely been up and about, but there is no reason why we can't get over them. Our boys need to show us Melbournians something. Think today will be that day. (Says with fingers toes etc x'd.)

Roof will be 100% closed.

I just hope they do something more than bomb the ball in our forward line. Lower eyes, find someone leading and kick it to them, not a 2 on 1.

It worked well last week. I guess against Hawthorn's defence it's almost impossible to get a 1 on 1 so the ball coming to ground 20m out is a lot better than 40-50m out.

Carlton's defence does look similar as well this season.

Despite the odds and how terrible we are at travelling, I reckon this is our game to lose. I don't actually expect us to win but if we actually play like we want it the game is definitely there for the taking.

Carlton coming off a 6 day break and such a massive effort are vulnerable and it's a game we just have to win.
