Surely it has to. If your captain ain't playing it has to double your vice captains score still.
Was going to go Watson VC Ablett C
But forgot the pies were playing the Dees, Might change it to Gaz VC, Pendles C

I read somewhere that the bye round players will be locked in at the same time as the Collingwood & Melbourne players.

My mistake, I thought it was Palmer. Well, that's 2 taggers GWS have to choose from, assuming both Palmer & Townsend are selected. I have SJ so hopefully he will smash out a big score this week, will pass on him for C/VC though.

Yes you can use the loophole as explained by Warnie here in SC Gold:
Yep! The loophole will still work over the bye rounds. In fact, it’s actually a whole heap easier! All of your bye players are able to be moved on and off your field as well as made captain throughout the round. They will only be locked in when the last game starts. So if you like your VC option early in the round, you can whack your C on someone who has the bye. Too easy!
