Round 11 trades

Anybody keeping Scotland this week? He's been a complete disappointment.... but if I trade him then I'll only have a bare 18 players this week. Trade Scotland or Goodes?

Planned-
Moloney > Ball
Scotland/Goodes > Burbury

Will Sydney keep playing Mitchell?

with how he played, YES! if we didnt have injuries at the moment, same as your team mate, we would have trouble dropping players. People a stepping up with all the injuries we have had.

If he plays like that every week, unless he needs a rest he will play.

Neade -> Burbury for the cash
Le Cras -> ??? for the points, thinking Bartel as Stevie J costs too much

Really wish there was a R13 premium in the forwards, but they all suck. Cloke black-listed from my team for his putrid efforts last year.

Tough time to black list Cloke with Frawley out and his upcoming draw

What's job security like for young Tommy Mitchell? Don't think I've ever traded in a player who's only played one game. Hanging out for Jeppas Juniors on DT TALK this week. Could see him playing badly this week and then being dropped. So many rookies who fluke a ton and then spud out. Really not sure I can risk bringing in someone who won't get games.

Who are the other mid downgrade options?

Tough one. I've got Hodge and would like to re-establish a mid-def link, so trading him for a defender might be the way to go for me. Plus he has the bye. Wish I had got Priddis instead of bloody Hodge.

Think I'll hold Scotland as lots of the defenders have been really shakey, can't afford to set the bar too high. I hope he finds some form. His last three scores have been the ones that've been shit...against GWS, Port and Bris. Carlton has a hard run of games coming up so maybe he'll step up.

Mitchell looks like a gun. If he was in any other side I would be 100% confident of him keeping him spot but Sydney's midfield is ridiculous. I'm still bringing him in this week.

Kyle Martin and Horvat are the other downgrade options or even Crouch if he is named. Martin would be my first choice but he has a round 13 bye along with a heap of other premiums. Horvat has the round 11 bye but could be brought in early.

For what it is worth I am bringing in Kyle Martin this week, Hrovat next week and Mitchell the week after. I know it sounds crazy with the R13 bye but I currently have Lonergan and Crouch warming my pine anyway so I'm praying that Crouch can get 2 games in to make me a bit more sneaky cash before he turns into Tom Mitchell in round 13. Basically allows me to stockpile cash and to make upgrades through to R15 and almost have a complete team if I'm lucky enough with injuries etc.

Berger -> Kruezer (Switch Cox with Rowe, Blicavs on field to cover donut)
Goodes -> Martin (More or less maxed out in price and has no use to me now anyway with the emergence of Vlastuin)

Next week it is Priddis to Barlow and Lonergan to Hrovat then the week after it is O'Meara to Scooter/Ryan Griffen/Cotchin/Boyd and Crouch to Mitchell. Still going to leave me roughly 300K to make my last upgrades in the backs (Duffield and Gibbs) as well as upgrading Dwyer in the forwards to who the hell knows. I think that will then leave me with just one more mid upgrade to make which at the moment I have earmarked for Stanton but we'll see what happens. This is DT, it is not meant to go to plan.

Reallly depends on who is named and who not.

I'm definately bringing in an additional ruckman. Probably Kruezer for Luey.

I'm sweating on Thurlow, Dwyer, Lucas and Cloke from last week. And any other unknown injuries and restings... I'm expecting Cloke to be back. I'm hoping that Dwyer and Thurlow will return, although less likely. It would be great for Lucas to be back as well.

If one of Lucas/Dwyer isn't named, I'll be trading them to Hutchings. This will free up cash for upgrades and help my bye structure a little.

Rnd 12: Evans to Griff. Dwyer to Mitchell/Martin
Rnd 13: Harbrow to Ibbotson. O'Meara to Barlow.

Would leave me post byes:

Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Ibbotson, Hanley, Goodes - Thurlow, Staker
Ablett, Swan, Jack, Barlow, Griff, Swallow, Vlastuin, Hutchings - Hrovat, Mitchell/Martin
Kruezer, Minson - Blicavs, Currie
SJ, Rockliff, Cox, JJK, Cloke, Martin - Franklin, Macaffer.

Swan in doubt? How come?

They've been saying this for weeks, man. I highly doubt there is anything wrong- in his interview after the Brissy match he said he was happy to be back in the midfield (the forward role didn't work) and that he hopes/expects to be back in the midfield this week.

As for captain, Swan plays Melbourne and should kill them. Or do you go with Gablett? Five of his last six games have been 130+.

out of KYLE MARTIN, TOM MITCHELL AND HROVAT..which TWO would you choose?

Well analyzing the 3 players from what we have seen so far:

Martin - 92 on debut. Will have the potential to cop a vest or two if he stays in the team for a decent period of time. With the Dees and the W.B to come in the next couple, he should stay in the team (you would hope) for those games and score well. Played as a HF / Mid on Friday night, and with his experience in the VFL? he should be able to adjust quickly to the pace of the game. With Kennedy, Dwyer, J.Thomas, Elliot, Krakour and Martin playing as HF / Mid, you would expect two of them to cop the green/red vests each game. Risky, but could pay of immensely. Round 13 bye is not in his favour given that most people have at least 2 of Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Stanton, Murphy, Dangerfield. Not to mention O'Meara as well.

Mitchell - 98 on debut (from 3 Qtrs). Again like Martin might cop a few vests along the way, but after last week if I was Horse I would be playing him in the 21 every game without fail. Looked to have picked up the pace of the game very quickly and played well against a quality opposition which is a great sign for a rookie. Bye looks to fit in nicely amongst most midfields.

Hrovat - 83 & 52. Will have this week off with the bye, so if you are keen look to pick him up next week. Could cop a vest, but he has looked a ton better than some of the players that the Dogs have got at the moment. I think with his size and stature he will play more forward, so may not score as well. But JS looks pretty solid for now. Bye this week obviously as stated before, so having the option of having him help cover the Round 12/13 byes could be of great use.

Overall Result for my mind - 1). Mitchell, 2). Martin, 3). Hvorat. (Depending on your bye structure)

Nice analysis Anzac. Going to bring in all 3 over the next two weeks freeing up cash by downgrading Goodes, Evans and Viney. So behind on my trades, but it'll allow to have cash to bring in Martin, Rockliff and a low-scoring premo like a Swallow, Murphy or Cotchin, not to mention getting some adequate bench cover which I'm severely lacking.

DGAF about the bye scores as I've got some scrub competition in my league over the next 5 or so weeks.

Been plotting for a few weeks now on best way to navigate with minimum carnage, continuing to improve team and maximising overall outcome. Delicate balancing act and despite being good in theory no doubt donuts will occur, just a case of minimising.

20 potentials this week with 5 in doubt (Thurlow, Dwyer, Crouch, Swan and Heppell)

21 potentials Rd 12

17 potentials Rd 13 (to rectify through trading)

My major concern is 6 premium mids and 3 premium backs with Rd 13 bye. This means if every other back and mid plays I am still 5 positions down so 1 will need to be sideways traded after byes commence. I knew this when I traded last week but felt almost certain that 1 of the 9 will miss Rd 11/12, hence to opportunity will be taken at the time. Already Swan and Heppell in doubt this week.

Anyway, teams permitting the aim this week is to double down and get ahead of the bell curve going in so wiggle room exists to upgrade even if copping an injury. This allows byes to be danced through while still upgrading team.
Looking very good over the bye rounds, out of interest, out of those 20 potentials, will they all be on the field? For my own side I've got a potential 21 playing this week however I've got an EMG in both the midfield and ruck so in a way it brings it down to 19 players (Assuming Dwyer and Thurlow play, confident Heppell and Swan will get up but that's just a gut feel).

I think most will be in a similar position in round 13, I've currently got Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Stanton, Watson, O'Meara and Martin (trading in this week) in my side giving me 7 round 13 midfielders along with the 3 backline ones in which I assume a big majority have. To counter that I am considering using a trade or two come round 13 to move my midfield premiums to other premiums then trading back after a week to cover zeros and hopefully make a bit of cash in the process.

Swan in doubt? How come?
Usually whenever Swan is in doubt or is in the media for a bad reason he pumps out a good score, last week there was word that Collingwood would rest him in which resulted in him pumping out a big 130 DT. So him being in doubt is almost enough to make me want to give him the big C! :D

I'm pretty sure I associate last weeks 130 to Brisbane ineptness rather than any desire on Swan's behalf to prove the media wrong.

My trades are Evans (melb) to stanton and Moloney to Bartel..
wish i got stanton over cotchin last week, thought stanton would struggle innsydney.......
Am unsure over getting bartel but need to get mid/fwd link going to cover missing forwards, and should help during bye. worried bartel could be rested though.

This has used most of my cash up, but i will be looking at picking up Mitchell and Hvorat/martin after they have played 2 games and are selected in the side for week 3.
