Trades Round 11 Trades

Does that mean pulling the trigger on Taranto instead? I had traded him out intially but the traders swung me the other way on last night's podcast.

Things would look like Taranto > Brayshaw and Billings > Rockliff.
If you can get Brayshaw and Rockliff with those trades then go for it. I decided to give Taranto one more chance because I couldn’t get both Rocky and Brayshaw (don’t have a spud like Billings who is worth enough). So have to choose one and then the other trade would be a downgrade to TSmith. Actually, I could have traded Parker but he becomes semi-relevant again if he gets DPP. Anyway, I actually just really want to get in Smith because of the money he will make until his bye, could he close to 100k! As you can probably tell, I am very unsure of trades this week so hopefully all of that makes sense

Yeah I was reluctant of getting rid of Parker based off of that potential DPP - has been a total let down as a midfielder so far but probably becomes a top 6 forward, so I'll take your advice and if Parker spuds it up, its entire your fault of course Red :p...and can't go wrong with Smith and a bit of extra cash going into the first BYE round.

Trades this week are definitely tough! So many juicy under priced premo's and rookie cash cows! Have reversed my team about twice a day at this point.

I'm considering doing a double upgrade, bringing in Rocky and Hall. Both players through their bye with low breakevens. Means that I can use their scores through the bye week hell.

But if I do this, I'd be banking on new rooks to come through for me like Ahern and Giro for cash generation later.

Is it a dumb move to not grab Smith this week?

As I write this i'm thinking maybe grab rocky and smith, and I can always grab hall next week if he goes big again. Would only go up by like 30k

Wait a week on Hall imo, grab Smith now

Something about Ahern that I like. Can just imagine him being the guy that racks them up (obviously depends on where they play him though). Also his dpp looks very nice

Hi All,

17 Trades and $183.1k in the bank
Not really sure what to do with tis sexy team this week. I was thinking:

T.Kelly > Rocky

Should I be bringing in any more rookies?
Some help would be most appreciated.

You might wanna post in the SC thread mate.

Yeah I think he is worth getting. He will make a lot of money even scoring 50s but I think he is good enough for 70s. Probably won’t keep going at 90 but it doesn’t matter, should still make 100k before his bye. I passed on Ronke when he was at 300K so I think I should jump on Smith
Yeah I’m pretty sorted for cashed up bench players though, especially up forward. Feels like a wasted trade (I can go double upgrade this week), especially if the general feeling is people are only holding him till his bye. Will have Ronke and Guelfi benched by next week who should still get up around 450-500 with Fritcsh at F8. Just feel like the 100 or so he’ll gain before his bye isn’t worth the 2 trades I’ll have to spend on him.

Hoping Ahern picks up 60/70 and plays well enough to keep his spot so I can grab him next week. Being sucked in by his DPP but I’m taking a gamble on either him, Giro or Murphy being solid this week.

Current trades are:
Kelly —> Rocky
Stephenson —> Walters
One up forward and one in the midfield for a week

At VFL level, Ahern is averaging per game: 23.5 disposals (at a high percentage), 3 tackles and averages 84 VFL fantasy points per game (with a high of 121 against the Northern Blues in his first VFL game and a low of 55, so he has a bit of the Daniel Wells about him, classy player, but doesn't necessarily need a heap of the footy to be damaging), all while being tagged during 4 of his 6 games. He'll stay in for at least a few weeks, due to his class and North's lack of midfield and HB class. He's a bit of a mixture between Wells and Higgins (he's built in the Higgins mould, although he may end up slightly bigger than him, tree trunk legs, and has a better tackling edge than Higgins, which isn't hard). Ahern's best will come after the next pre-season or two after he builds up his match experience, conditioning and getting used to the pace of the game.

He's probably coming in for Ryan Clarke, so we'll see him rotate between HB and midfield. Ahern is a natural mid and is one to keep an eye on over the next few years; I'm very bullish on him and he is a former top 10 pick.

I’ve kind of accepted that Parker was a dud pick and have lowered my expectations. Just need him to get 80-90s until his bye so I can trade him out. Same with Sauce, who is literally a bigger spud. I’ll let you and others know when I trade Parker out, he will go 110 guaranteed when he’s out of my team.

Yeah North aren’t a really fantasy relevant team so happy to wait a week on Ahern. His DPP would be handy for the byes though, will be a downgrade option for sure in the next couple of weeks

Yeah Hall is very risky and you can afford to wait a week ok him. Rocky is more of a sure thing. I’d grab Smith for the cash gen. Need to see one more week of Hall’s new role in the backline, shame he won’t get DPP though. Even if he is useful for the byes, you’d probably have to trade him out again sometime this year so not sure he is even worth bringing in. I’d rather just the hit in the byes because Hall won’t be top 8 mid imo and has the potential to be a disaster pick like Parker

You still can, you have 3 trades next week
Yeah I will probably get those 2 rookies next week. But i would have liked to have 2 upgrades this week (rocky and gus) but didn’t have enough cash so had to go TSmith. TSmith will make a lot of cash but probably don’t need to get him now because of the new downgrade options. I don’t like picking rookies without seeing one game first so I’ll stick with Smith for now

Giro now named. Damn, wish I had enough cash in the bank to do a double upgrade this week. Giro and Ahern would be 2 good rookies to downgrade to next week.

That's my plan sorted for next week

Smith reminds me on Ronke, could have jumped on when he went HUGE that week he kicked 7, would be nice to have on the field now, mind you it is Spargo taking the spot so could be worse but cash generation for 2 weeks will be handy and his scores should be serviceable.

Ill be hoping to go next week

Mutch - Giro
Venables - Ahern --- yes still carrying him.
