Terrible decision to have Hawks in the inverted jumper. You can tell them apart okay, but both teams are dark base with light numbers when they could have just left it simple and had dark vs light.

The AFL should just keep it simple wherever possible

Can't go past the classic 90s design. Never should have changed
The 5 stripe 90s design would be good, or even the 80s 3 stripe one with the wider stripes extending under the arm cuffs.

Doesn't need to be Hawthorn, but I wish one of the striped clubs would do something different to the others, even returning the pinstripes would be cool! North's stupid cutoff stripes are the biggest difference apart from colours right now.

FWIW I think Collingwood may be in the clash jumper this week.

We are yet to wear the home jumper with white shirts this year.

Away to Sydney we wore home jumper and black shorts.
Away to Saints, Eagles & Lions we wore the clash jumper.

The other 6 games we've been the home team.
Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton. Geelong, Port.

Not sure. No team wears white shorts against Sydney (except Gold Coast with their clash jumper), and Saints and Eagles are genuine clashes where the black jumper isn't sufficient. Its only really the Lions game where previously you would have preferred the home/white combo. I guess we'll find out Monday.

So, I just tuned in to watch Hawks vs Essendon, and I surprisingly don't find the brown base jumper too much of a clash at all. The long shots still have Hawthorn looking predominantly gold, strangely. The yellow/gold stripes just seem extra vivid somehow.

I actually think it's a better looking jumper than their home guernsey.

Most clubs seem to prefer darker guernseys lately, and they might have a point - WC, Freo, Coll, StK and lately North all look good. For the sake of variety though I hope no more clubs change to a darker base.

Yeah that's the thing isn't it. We can't all have dark guernseys.

Unlike many posters, I do agree with the AFL in that I still think that Hawks still need the clash against us, even if the clash isn't as bad as it was with our tripanel

However, I'm surprised a little surprised that the Crows are wearing all-white against us given that we'll be in the Peril this weekend

Yellow is a minor colour on the WCE jumper.
The AFL don't think Hawthorn need clash *even though* WCE changed their jumper. The AFL didn't think about the fact that the jumper changed. They just went "WCE-Hawthorn? Home/Clash, like always".

Reckon we're going to see Dogs and Pies in clash. AFL shop had both listed as player jumpers being auctioned off.

At least that's what i based my tips on.

Dogs in home/white. Theory debunked.

I think it's more a case of "the brown jumper clashes, wear white instead"

The brown jumper clashes with lots of teams but they still wear it. I'd imagine they'd default back to home instead of white wherever possible if that was the case.

When I said brown clashes, I meant more against dark teams with yellow/gold like WCE, Adelaide, Richmond. Funny how they only wear their home away to the Victorian team out of those 3.
