Turns out Bell can play too

He was solid, but he needs to sort out his hands. Fumbles almost everything. I'm bullish on him cos the rest of his game is good - gets to contests, throws the body in, chases and tackles hard, and usually uses it OK when he's got time. But he's putting himself under pressure and robbing himself of good touches when he fumbles.

Hopefully its just a process of adjusting to the speed of senior footy. He wouldn't be the inside bull he is in the reserves if this was a constant issue.

Rowbottom just keeps improving, one of the best recruits the Swans have had. I am so excited by his development. Doesn't panic doesn't waste his disposal. Actually looks like he is making Parker a bit better by showing composure.

Parker has just gone from strength to strength this season. Leadership sits comfortably with him and a bloody good guy to have that rarely gets injured.

Blakey can't get too excited after one good game but this is the response required and he delivered. Looks like he needs to be in a on ball role to get the best. Screams winger at this time of his career.

Melican deserves a plug, nightmare last week but showed his worth tonight and good on them for having confidence in him. Lot of mental consideration in team selection and they kind of got it right.

Rampe - I rarely mention him as I just expect it from him but deserves the kind of kudos he is getting now. If he isn't all Australian this year then I am missing some seriously talented player that steals his spot.

The negatives

None - GWS they were insipid and played in a Grand Final last year so they deserve a razzie for that one. Oh and the three soft frees that led to their goals. Didn't think Thurlow deserved his free either really.

The strange positives

Umpires obviously being instructed to call holding the ball correctly even though they missed a few like the one on Jeremy Cameron and Paps tackle but I think it's a good move by the AFL the over correction they did was a candidate for a remote through the TV screen.

Melican played a great defensive game. He is a tease.

I feel he might be a bit too slow to make it as an AFL defender in today's game, but he showed signs of the form that got us excited in 2017.

Not bad for a list that’s nowhere

Brilliant game. The amount of players we have that are still learning the game and the amount we have out. Superb effort. If we show that sort of effort it doesn’t matter if we lose games, because they’ll keep learning and keep getting better.

stoked with the effort.

Somebody mentioned that straight line he is one of the quickest in the team and I thought we saw a bit of that tonight. I think that his slowness is his more his mind in second guessing the play or his opponent. The free against him for Finalayson's goal was the biggest howler of the three. Melican is going to give us some tough moments but tonight he showed his worth also. Took an excellent mark tonight where he leant on the body and dived away to mark it. Last week he did that and it bounced off his chest in the last minute and the pitchforks were out (Rightly so) but it's pleasing when a player turns things around in a week.

Fantastic and dominant win over our old arch rival. Seems we carried over the confidence and momentum from last week's close game as the boys were up and about from the very get-go.

Really liking the inclusions of bell, foot and wicks. Feel like they provide us the extra bigger/stronger bodies to compete and stand up longer in those important 1-1 contests.

Stephens to me is already showing the glimpses from his first two games that rowbottom showed in his games during his debut year, and i honestly can't wait to see him develop and showcase that engine/left foot of his in full flight.

We are changing jumper makers next year I think so I'd just buy it with the number

Completely off topic but did you see that article about the Opera House trying to charge for the use of their image ? We might be back to the red V which would please me no end but that would be a tough thing for Sydney fans who only know the Opera House version. Maybe the Swans will pay the royalties or commision to use it.
