Yeah, Horse saying in his selection video that they wanted Robert to play a full game. If they have the same plan with Fox, not sure why he was the one chosen to travel last week as emergency. Anyway ....

In recent years they normally haven't liked debutants to be the sub when it was the "medical" sub. But as stated above, think there's a fair chance in this instance that Cleary is sub.

Yeah Probably prefer Fox Sub and Cleary have a game personally .
I also just want Campbell to get some consistency in his role though. This hamster wheel of chopping and changing what we do with him on a weekly or fortnightly basis is frustrating.

Fantastic news for Cleary and the Club. If there was an afterlife, somewhere Gentleman Jim Cleary would have a beatific smile. So good to have a debutante in our anniversary week.

Smart, tough and hard working. Thought he was a little quieter in the last 2s game and may have missed his chance, but was dominant the week before.

Yep same I just figure he will actually play in position in the VFL.

I wonder if Cleary could be used in the guts to take on more defensive stuff in case Rowbottom needs to play more of an attacking role as he did last week, in the likely event that Toby Bedford tags either Heeney or Warner.

Very rarely does Horse debut a player straight into the mids. More likely than not hes starting at HF

Yeah tbh I'm not optimistic after looking back over the examples of first-year players being played in the mids under John Longmire.

There's a whopping total of two:

2011 - Luke Parker
2019 - James Rowbottom

Suddenly I'm now preparing for Cleary the half forward.

Atleast we know if he does start in the mids, he is gonna be a superstar.
