I Want to go on about the last quarter, but in reality we were absolutely cooked, give us another 30 minutes and we wouldn’t get a goal.

Should’ve been close to 30 points up in the first quarter, at least we would’ve had a handy lead to sort of maintain with.

Think this was also the first game where our inexperienced players looked out of depth. There’s no doubt the injuries are not helping.

Not an awful performance, but definitely frustrating and winnable. Top 4 is gonna be tough with our current injury list.

Great effort by the boys. We had nothing left to give in the last. I’m just glad no injuries.

Johnson over Kruger proved to be the blunder we all expected.
I keep hearing this but it’s not a big deal. Neither would have made a difference & neither should be on the list next year.
When Reef didn’t get over the concussion I knew we would have no full forward with any chance of kicking goals.
Johnson & Krueger aren’t up to it. But there are a few more on our list that aren’t up to it either.

I expected to lose by a few goals but we should've been 6 goals up in that first quarter. And subbing off Noble instead of AJ lol.

Oh well. ottno. Brave effort if nothing else.
Our conversion early was what cost us along with selecting AJ instead of Freddie.
Annoyingly, we should’ve still won this game against all odds.

Gutsy effort but poor goal kicking in Q1 and too many cooked youngsters in Q4 was the difference. Incredible effort really with 17 players unavailable.

I’m not sold on Dean at all and continue to wonder what the Fin Macrae fan club sees in him - no impact from his 11 touches and only 1 handball in Q4. Nowhere near good enough from a 4th year wannabe-midfielder.

Next week drop Dean, push Frampton back to defence and bring in Kreuger.

Firstly, **** the scumps.

Secondly, game lost at the selection table …

  • Markov is NOT a forward
  • Playing Billy up forward makes 0 sense. WB has a huge forward line and Billy has been arguably our best shutdown defender this year. Baffling.
  • AJ has done nothing to warrant his place in the side. I hate Kreuger but he would have offered more and needs to be in the side next week.
  • Why wasn’t Bytel subbed? Offered nothing except slow turnovers.

Spot on.
Krueger gives nothing more than Johnson. Probably less.

We just don’t have the players available to win.

Just ran out of puff in the last.

Good effort and beaten by a better team on the night.

But this umpiring was the most disgraceful I have seen. Paid them everything.

The Dogs got away with throwing the ball all night, was the crow throw on roids. Fast small rugby throws, one handed throws and just handing the ball over on tackles. Only got 1 given in the last Q...

Also the amount of times Bontempelli (and others) got away with grabbing and spinning Nick Daicos as he was running through the contest and not get done for a hold was a absolute piss take.

There was one stoppage that Macrea just put the double under hooks on Nick and ran him from ones side to the other out of the stoppage ring before the ball had even landed.

Beyond that some shocking kicking by Noble, Sidebottom and Cameron was very costly. Schultz first term kicking gettable goals as points.

No KPF targets killed us. Markov is a defender and that is all.

And finally a brave effort to fight it out but looked like the mids were dead on thier feet in that last Q.

Treloar got them back on it in the 2nd.

I’m not copping this ‘good effort considering’ crap.

Where were the changes during the game when it became clear several players were struggling in their new positions?
They would have like Liberatore, Naughton, Richards, Weightman, Bailey Smith and not the 2 ingame injuries.

Agree that the coaching was underwhelming tonight.

Deserved that. They have major injuries too.

The first quarter is the lack of ruthlessness this group has when in control. The last quarter is this group going into their shell when challenged late.

This is happening consistently regardless of personnel.
Wtf.
This group won a flag 13 games ago, you don’t win a flag unless you are ruthless and a desire and hunger to win.

Lost in the coaches box. Completely stifled our ball movement in the last qtr and we had no answer. Even more disappointing that Dogs had a man down and we still couldn't play the minutes.
What would you have done differently?
