He definitely could. He’s priced at 135 now based on 5200 (I don’t know what the actual number is).

Anything could happen though. Injury perhaps, form slump...looks unlikely atm but he does play for the Dees so you never know. As much as I'm looking at which Rd14 SP to sideways myself I don't think I want Oliver as a reverse POD any more than Macrae or Gawn. It's bad enough seeing Bont killing it every week and not owning him but I wouldn't want to be missing 2 of the Top3 mids.

Did you trade Grundy already?

I'm hoping to hold Jordon, Poulter and Dev as my bench back-ups whilst they continue to get games. Dev and Poulter can swing M/F.

This week I'm going Grundy to Reeves, Warner to CCJ, Murphy to Whitfield and RCD to Duncan.

21 playing this week, assuming Brockman plays, and can loop L Jones and Bianco with Daniel in defence.

18-19 playing in Round 14 (Brockman pending), without any trades at this stage.

Defence completed, Mids Completed, need one more forward (Phillips to go back there, yay!!), and get Grundy back when his price drops. Have $170k left for that in Rd 16/17.

9 trades left, so ideally I will also upgrade Phillips and maybe Cripps.

Out: Mansell, Flynn, DevRob, Brockman
In: Whitfield, Boak, Reeves, Saunders

Next week Byrnes to another rook and Poulter to a FWD to complete my team.

If Murphy moos a little more I will switch him to Fyfe and then do a luxury upgrade of Cerra to someone good.

Stuff it campaigners!

Jelly your in! Welcome home son.

Warner > Whitfield
RCD > Reeves
Zorko > Jelly

Trading Zorko is a ballsy move but he is going to miss the next 2 weeks including the dreaded round 14 bye.

15 playing in round 14 if Madden comes back and I trade Jordan > Zerrett.

Thoughts?

I don't know mate, you'll have 8 trades and no cash with two upgrades left. Cutting it pretty fine. I'd be tempted to hold Zorko (by the throat ideally) and use the trades for the inevitable injuries/resting that is coming.

We're all ****ed for round 14, wouldn't worry about it that much.

Just my two cents.

You probably don't need all three once your team is complete, as it means you'll have two MID bench back-ups when you really only need one. I've already traded Jordan OUT and am considering holding Dev and Poulter for most of the season as MID/FWD bench back-ups.

Having said that, Jordan probably has the best JS of the three, then Poulter then Dev

My way of thinking is that forwards are cheaper to upgrade to than mids.

If I go Zorko > Jelly this week (GWS have a juicey draw coming up) and Jordan > Zerrett next week then my mids are complete.

Only leaves Poulter and CCJ at F5 and F6 who are both going up in value still and should be easy enough to upgrade to say a Langford and Marshall or something like that.

Zorko is at peak price too and might not keep scoring so well now that Neale is back and Berry will be back after the byes.

Tough spot as I went early on CCJ & Bianco last week so was planning upgrades + Reeves. Now have plenty of people cooked (Fyfe, Warner, Highmore, Hunter, Orazio, Finn, McCreery) and I'm not sure where to move them.

Any news on Fyfe yet? Want to move him to Macrae but may need to go to someone like Boak this week. No idea where I should go now...

That's fair enough.

I guess it depends on who you trade in. I assume you're looking at Danger (likely between $500-550k) and Marshall ($450k odd) when they drop a bit. Will you get the cash for that from 2 downgrades? Or will you need more?

Poulter is going really well, could get close to $400k if he keeps this scoring going a bit longer, that would make it a lot easier.

I'd probably downgrade Murphy > Newcombe to get $100k and hopefully Madden comes back in for Lester and makes me some more cash. Have Reeves and Bianco that will make money too.

I don't mind keeping one of Poulter or CCJ just before finals to upgrade if they are both still scoring well till then.

It's going to make things very interesting this arvo when Collingwood's injury report comes out, to see what they say about Grundy, whether he will or won't be back in round 15.

"The Grundy" v1

12 trades left and 1 rookie on-field & 8k bank
Rd13 = 20 players avail
Rd14 = 15 players avail

Grundy > Whitfield
Byrnes > CCJ
222k

May > Dale
Poulter > Hind
10k

Rd14 = 18 starters (15 keepers + LJones, Reeves, Waterman)

Rd15
Waterman > Newcombe (or some other cheap benchie)

Rd16
(M9)Heppell > Grundy

Team complete*
6 trades left

It does seem wasteful to me to use 6 trades to essentially make only 1 upgrade, albeit I would field a fairly strong Rd14 team and possibly make up significant ground in the rankings. However, I could just as easily complete my team a round earlier by Rd14 simply by upgrading Poulter > Danger (assuming he plays Rd13 and drops 50k) along with 2 bench downgrades and come out of the byes with 9 trades instead of only 6. However, I'd be starting only 16-17 in Rd 14. Obviously I would need 2x PLAYING Rd12/13 bye bench downgrades to field that week, preferably with some JS going forward since they will be acting as cover going forward. (Not Reeves, already have) Worst possible time to have a Rd12/13 bye rookie shortage.

So the question I ask myself is a possible extra 150-200 points in Rd14 worth using 3 extra trades OR am I better off forgoing those points and using the 3 trades saved to make a couple of on-field improvements post byes whilst still having enough trades left over to deal with any carnage that might come my way?

Guessing there's no rucks your a fan off who have already had a bye. I'll still be playing a rookie for the next 2 weeks so for me I'll just use CCJ/Reeves.

The risk is I'm stuck playing a rookie for a week or 2 longer than I'd like. For full premo teams it probably does make more sense to hold Grundy.

IF GRUNDY IS NOT RETURNING IN ROUND 15

this week:
13. Flynn to Reeves
12. Grundy to CCJ
11. Murphy to Whitfield

next week:
10. Poulter to Lycett (CCJ to FWD)
9. Jordon to Dale (FinMac to MID bench)
8. Short/Maynard/Brayshaw to Parish/Bont
(optional) 7. Heeney to Langford

6 or 7 trades left, team done (will have 18 or more playing in round 14)

I'll bring Grundy back in for Lycjett if I can, otherwise I'll ride this beautiful moustache'd kent for the season

and hope he pulls this 2nd half form from 2019 out of his moustache

That's a tough choice. I'd say both strategies could end up with similar results overall. The safe play is to keep more trades in the bank but going into R14 with 16 players isn't much fun.

Go hard man, burn the trades I say. Pray 6 trades post bye is enough.

If I do end up trading Grundy it would only be temporary and I already have Reeves for cover + SP Treacy and CCJ who I will bring in this week at R3 & F8. I know people say they will bring back a SP in this situation and never get them back, but I shouldn't have too much of a problem bringing Grundy back if he ends up being the Rd14 bye SP sacrifice trade.

I had it all worked out with 19 starters in both Rd13 & Rd14 and all I had to do was make 1 downgrade, then a 1 up and 1 down to complete my team with 8 trades to spare. Moving the Tiges game was the worst possible outcome for me.

Still hoping 1 or 2 Rd12 bye rookies are named this week to give me an easy way out.

Yep I'm similar. Still have enough cash gen going to get Grundy back in. Will run CCJ/Reeves for a couple weeks and then DPP switch CCJ back to F7 use Poulter/Weightman to get Grundy back in.

Think I've just figured a way to get Full premo still this week, keep Zorko and get 17 starters rd14....only draw back that it involves Greene.
Upside it involves Heeney getting traded.
Toby will kick at least 3 goals this weekend, absolute lock for 80 to 90 minimum. Could easily kick 5 and go 130+.
Shoulder injury, so he's fit, he would have been running, and hopefully practicing his set shots lol.
If he gets through the contact at training he's going to play, so I'll be looking at him as well.
Would love to see some training footage of him getting bumped at training though, because you know his opposition will rough him up.
