Have no idea. I don't follow any other code or sport. Plus, Charlie used to play league so I'm guessing that would be his connection to nrl. But what connection to AFL do these 3 league players have to our code?

FWIW, there's a pretty good relationship between us and the Dolphins now, to the point Rich is now doing some coaching (assume kicking, not running coach) with us. He was over at Redcliffe a couple of Thursday's ago in full Dolphins kit on the ground in the warm up etc. Dolphins players have also been down at training and in the sheds after games quite a bit, so hopefully each club can help each other with respect to what the other is good at, as opposed to being direct competitors as such.

I think as well what you’ll find is that a lot of professional sports players are just sports fans in general. If anything, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of sportsmen spend more time watching sports other than what they play, because why would you want to spend your free time being immersed in the thing that already eats up all of your time anyway?

If Oscar and Fort are just able to stand under a high kick and ensure it comes to ground, I will be happy. But yes marks 25 meters out would be great.

I wouldn't mind seeing McCarthy takes Rich's spot in the back half tonight... I don't know that we get full value out of him playing the role he is at the moment and it might make him a little more directly accountable while getting some benefit out of his attributes. Given Lohmanns inclusion it sort of makes sense to shift the magnets and see what happens...

Loved Jaspa's interview on lions.com, very confident young man, said his strength was his disposal and thinks he can do some damage delivering the ball into F50 tonight, can't wait to see him in action.

My first post here, taking my nephews to their first ever Lions game tonight they are pumped! Let’s get it Lions!!

Long time lurker here just thought I’d add my piece on the Gunston/Rich saga. I was actually pretty shocked from the response here, everyone was calling for their heads and when it happened a lot of users had a meltdown.

I honestly don’t think we heard the full story and I think it would be pretty naive to think they just walked in to fages office and stepped down. I’m guessing we don’t know the full story and there were some prior conversations amongst the staffing/ leadership group that ultimately led to this decision.

I don’t believe anyone had a meltdown about the omissions of Rich & Gunston, but the rather the optics of the whole thing, and why wasn’t it done sooner.

Hehe I'd argue he can't stop catching breaks, he is on a break often due to breaking down.

Also, I would be supportive of having NRL players involved in promoting AFL no matter the cause, that is worth its weight in exposure gold.

Agree - we haven't got our best 22 defensive unit out there tonight..........
