You don't need a piece of paper to be a genius. When Butler goes to the pub they bring him a high chair and a children's menu. The Lizzard is a human swan. Has this low centre of gravity with a protruding neck and very hard to knock over and like when you have a few cans and test your theory at the Botanic Gardens the authorities come out and protect the campaigner even when you explain the law of the jungle to them. The system is rigged man.
It's probably healthy to be laughing this hard before 9am.

What are we thinking?

Note the red/white colours too xx

Wouldn't it make more sense for the AFL to have an ex player/coach/AFLPA rep in there instead who actually understands how the game is played?

I'm convinced that the whole pseudo legalese where everyone throws money at highly paid lawyers is simply and blindly copying what the Americans do.

Do they learn ANYTHING about football and its rules while studying law? or are we simply expected to assume they are superior to mere mortals in every way?

OMG Earth is being attacked by Aliens, quick get the lawyers.

That's a very clever unconscious man - he passed an HIA test shortly after being unconscious!!o_O

Not only that, but just milliseconds before he was unconscious, he evaded two tacklers !!!

Some of our guys really must need to work on their tackling !??

Seriously, where do some of these mouth-breathing morons come from??

I just thought it was funny the way some facts get distorted and how people don't actually look at the proper news, but rather bullshit rumours that their mates tell them.

If I was a Tiges fan I'd be pissed off with the scheduling of the game. They got on a flight at midnight from Perth Saturday night which means they wouldn't have been back in Melbourne until 6am Sunday morning Melbourne time. That's with sore bodies such as Nank who copped a corky. They also haven't had their bye and are coming off back to back interstate trips.

We have a few extra days recovery and have had a week off already.

If I were a Tiges fan, I don't think I'd be bothered too much about anything. Maybe the Pickett situation.
I'd just chill out reminisce about flags past and keep an eye on the two feeder clubs to see where our next guns are coming from.

Caminiti did some great pressure acts up the field. I think he brings something completely different to the side than Membrey. It looked like our kicking inside 50 that hurt us not conversion or forward craft. Can't see members getting back in.
Personally I think it is more Owens and the Poo keeping out Members at present as they are both playing the third tall role that Membrey used to own. Plus Owens is offering a lot more than a third tall at present.

Plus we are playing 3 smalls rotating through the forward line in Higgins, Butler and Gresh.

Higgins in particular also puts pressure on to displace Membrey as Higgins largely plays as a small marking forward.

Ideally you want too true key big marking forwards.

So with no Hayes, that is King and Caminiti at present. If not Caminiti if he is looking a bit out of touch, then Sharman.

Having said that Caminiti does more than mark. He busts packs and applies a lot of defensive pressure. So he is doing a lot of team football.

Membrey has played a more roaming role in the Ratts years but he was best as a stay at home small tall forward. So he probably is best in Hammer's role but Phillipou and Owens are playing those more mobile high half forward roles he was playing under Ratts.

He could have done a lot more in the VFL than he did.
Maybe he's cracked the sulks, but that's not going to get him back into the team.

I tend to believe that your third tall should always play a more roaming role.

Anyway, injuries have crueled us before in finals, so to have a player of Membrey's quality who can slot in is a plus.

With his injuries I also thing Membrey will get better with more games played.

The coaches seem to favour getting a lot of games into our younger players this season, and that will really help us going forward. The coaches sad at the outset that this was to be an exploratory year. And player wise that very much seems to be the case.

I mean take the Poo, one could argue that he is not quite doing enough, and can go missing. But that class and raw talent is obvious to all. He just needs games and another preseason or two. Then watch out.

Interesting conundrum.

Hammer has dropped off & isn’t in great form (not unexpected for a first year key position player) and not getting much of the ball but his pressure is terrific for a big guy.

Members is a proven performer but his form is ordinary (obviously pre season injury and concussion have knocked him about) and doesn’t bring the same pressure.

Not sure of the answer - maybe keep going with Hammer as long as we can until hopefully Members knocks the door down at Sandy.

Agree with Pou but the one knock I have on him is his lack of explosive speed - looks a bit like a lumbering giraffe at times!

He is certainly driven to be the best - so hopefully he gets a sprint coach over summer

I think Sharman deserves a go with Caminiti as the sub.

Members can work his way back into the team through dominating in the VFL.

Yeah sounds like Membrey is still having some issues, thought I heard somewhere that he wasn't even going to play VFL this week.

It's what you value more. Hammer defends like a small, he runs hard to cut off space and tackles well. Membrey is a converter. He will turn half chances into goals but tends to go a bit slower on the counter. Hammer seems very quick of mind too.
