How can the midfield be so good one week and so terrible the next.
Take that win. Good in the first. Broke even through the middle quarters. Lost composure in the last but stabilised.
All forwards kicked goals. Joe kicked the best.
Good that Charlie got one in the end. He and Bailey still have form to find. Maybe McKenna needs a training block, we have cover in his position.

Thought we were far better than them, major dip at the end not ideal but clearly the better team.
Morris & Lohmann continue to impress, Reville getting around the ground. Thought Willmot was good too, could name a few more.
Getting really concerned about McKenna though, more than anyone else in the team he makes consistent errors.
Massive game next week, need to keep the ball rolling.

Yes. And McCluggage somehow reminds me of a Wiggle.
Very average game. First quarter was good albeit even then we were getting smashed through clearance.
After quarter time though was complete rubbish. It’s going to take a mighty effort for this team to still make finals. Every week teams will continue to push us in games because they know we don’t have the mental capacity to see one out for the full 120 minutes.
Other than the rank rubbish in allowing that Saints team to kick over 100 points, it’s actually getting sad now watching Charlie’s form. Was glad to see him kick that goal at the end and have all the players get around him, which hopefully lifts him a bit. He really doesn’t look happy out there right now though.

Weird game.
Saints seemed to have acres of space when transiting from half back to half forward.

One good quarter, one so-so quarter and two disappointing ones. Our whole ground defensive pressure was poor (every line really). 35 tackles for the match was disappointing.
We scored very well from D50 in the first quarter (6 goals) which was masking that we were getting smashed in clearances.
I do love how much the younger players stood up when the pressure was on though. Wilmot, Lohmann, Reville, Fletcher and Morris had some key touches when the Saints were coming hard.
Bank the win and move on.

the one shining light is at least we didn't have a bore-fest and the saints were forced to actually attack

Not our best performance, but we got the 4 points, and for the 1st time since the season started, we have evened the ledger.
We'll be right in a week, the boys will work on defence and keeping focus. I'm not overly concerned by the switch off. But I think McKenna needs a spell in the VFL, he's killing us with turnovers and we have plenty of good HBFs.
Votes to Daniher, Zorko, McCluggage, Rayner and Morris. I'm actually really surprised Rayner only had 13 disposals, it felt like he was one of the few bright spots in the second half. Best game Zorko has played all year, apart from getting a kick stolen by Henry for a goal.
