For this Captain thread, so it is a little bit more helpful for those who don't have Ablett, how about people also name their Vice captain aswell??

Just an idea?!

I can't decide between Brown and Goodes

Key Fwds vs Essendon -

Rd 2 - Mooney 2 Goals
Rd 3 - Fev 8 Goals
Rd 5 - Reiwoldt 3 Goals
Rd 6 - Cloke 5 Goals
Rd 7 - Tredrea 1 Goal (Motlop 7)
Rd 8 - O'Loughlin 6 Goals
Rd 9 - Richo 2 Goals
Rd 10 - Buton 2 Goals
Rd 11 - Franklin 9 Goals
Rd 13 - Fev 7 Goals
Rd 14 - Pavlich 6 Goals

Pretty good argument thereto go with Brown. Some big bags kicked against the Bombers this year.

On the other hand Goodes has done little wrong and only need 20 touches to score well.

Thoughts?

I'd go with Goodes personally, mainly because with a forward when they go bad, it's really bad. Goodes however has had one really poor score against Saints, other than that his lowest is 90 or something.

Yeah leaning towards Goodes mate.

Just keeping a eye on the weather.

Brown under roof at dome and Swans at MCG (where they have not played at all this year)

Sticking with riewoldt this week. Can't see him getting under 100 and i wouldn't be surprised if he kicks 3 or 4 goals with 17 or 18 marks....i could be so horribly wrong though.

Not NDS Foxy?

Reiwoldt has been in good SC form of late.

Waite may hold him tonight though.

I really need this win

Im just scared about ablett a) what if they put him up forward b) Crowley c) he let me down last week

Thinking Sandilands ? u gotta consider him seeing his game last time around

Cross is a safe option

Swan is a tad bit risky....

Yeah, but we didn't have Ottens then did we?

Correct.

You had Blake and Mumford who has 23 hit outs between them (6% to advantage).

Sandilands had 42 alone

dunno whether or not to put ablett as captain after last game they played freo..
tossing up between picking him, jono brown, cox, cooney. maybe even brad johnson up against melbourne.

I personally hope Ablett has a shocker (so I can get him in a couple of weeks), but I think too many are reading a bit to much into his game against freo last time.

If I had Ablett, would still make him captain this week.

Man......I hate these weeks. Opponent has Ablett, I am going to assume he's gonna score 150 so I need a captain to match him:

Brown - could tear it up
Hodge - great scorer (last week he still scored 110 and played 60% game time), but playing Swans.
Riewoldt - in form, but in the wet
Cox - playing at home, not much competition, but limited game time.

Big choice, need to win to stay in top 8.

Any advice?

I dont think that Ablett will score 150 this week, and I dont see why Cox will have limited game time with Seaby out unless the big ape will spend some time in the ruck.

If you don't have Ablett you have to go with J Brown. He will kick a bag against us.

My biggest problem is deciding out of Ablett and J Brown. Leaning towards Ablett but because of what happened last time with Crowley it makes me nervous.

A few people have said that Ablett will kill Crowley this time but C Cornes was pantsed twice by Bannister last year so there's no reason it can't happen again.

Decisions ....

I am hoping ablett won't score 150, but he has got that so often I am assuming worst case scenario. Still not convinced Cox is healthy.....but still scoring ok I suppose.

I would go for Cooney or Cross if you have either of them, if not probz Jono Brown would be a safe bet:thumbsu:
