Trades Round 15 trades

Just on Hannebery. I can totally understand both sides of the arguments for getting/not getting him.

For those of you who are looking to get him, what path are you taking?

Rookie upgrade? Trading out a underperforming premo?

I’m seriously considering because of a few factors. I basically have no cash after three upgrades last week. My rookies are either worth nothing (Gardner/Burgess) or still have growth (Logue/Naish/Baker/Bewley). I have Boak in my mids and can make $170k trading Worpel to Hannebery (Boak to Fwds/Hanners M8) which allows me to upgrade Smith to Laird.

Then for my team it’s basically using the cash from my Logues, Bakers etc to upgrade Perryman, L.Shiels, Hanners (hopefully in a month to a fallen premo) and then onto guys like Neale and Cripps as all rookies are currently off ground.

I've got Duursma in my mids currently
So I'm doing Duurs / Bray to Hanners / Josh Kelly this week.

Essentially OUT: Rook/under performing premo, IN: Stepping stone premo / uber premo.

I can get it done with $0k left in the kitty, so OCD-wise it's the perfect trade.

Hanners becomes my M8 with no rooks on ground.

So, with Stein out I have a dilema.

OPTION 1 - Double Down
Answerth - Naish and Corbett to Hind (via Setterfield DPP).

OPTION 2 - UP DOWN
Answerth - Naish and Setterfield (or Baker or Clarke) to Hannebury

Option 1 ensure i cut two terrible rookies in Answerth and Corbett. Option 2 gives my side a stronger look for the next three weeks or so with Hannebury but cuts Setterfield about a week or two earlier than I would prefer.

Please help.

I reckon i may chase Hately this week, do a Answerth to Hately for some serious cash generation on the bench, which we will all need in the back end of this season.
Hately only seems like he's in for DeBoer. Given that they had no worries dropping him after his previous games, I can't see him getting an extended run at it.

I'm going early on Baker, upgrading to Hanners. Cost is $100k exactly, but at this stage I'm chasing points more than cash.

am i reading that right - taranto on interchange ???
Yep no surprises - his TOG% is high 70s. Makes his fantasy scores even more amazing.

Have somehow fluked my way to 95th overall, despite the fact that most teams I see on here are (in my opinion) better than mine 😂 also managed to end up with 7 premo FWDs...whoops.

Pre-trades:

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Crisp, Blakely, Duursma, Logue (Naish, Ellis)
MID: JKelly, Gaff, Brouch, Macrae, Fyfe, Lyons, Walsh, Brayshaw (Clarke, Bewley)
RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Z Clarke ugh, Meek)
FWD: Dunkley, Danger, Boak, Kelly, Ziebell, Billings (Worpel, Corbett)

Plan for this week is Worpel to Cameron and Duursma to Daniel, 288k in the bank next week for a double upgrade of 2 of Walsh/Lyons/Brayshaw.

Also considering one of the above 3 down to Hannebery (if he fires again) and another up to an uber premo...Decisions, decisions!

Nice team. Nice work.

What are your thoughts on Blakely? If not a keeper then you're 3 short in defence and 2-3 in mids, so why not upgrade Walsh this week with something like:

Duursma -> Hind or Garner
Walsh -> Daniel (with a M/F DPP into the mids and Worpel onto the forward field)?

Have 460K in the bank and have planned my trades weeks out in advance (bit of a AFL fantasy tragic with my excel planning). Trades is as follows:
  • Wk 15:
    • Trades: B.Smith / Z.Duursma > C.Daniel / Hanners.
    • Bank: ~$430K
  • Wk 16:
    • Trades: Stack / Worpel > Fwd (Whitfield/Hurn) / Mid (Sloane/Trelly).
    • Bank: ~$100K
  • Wk 17:
    • Trades: Rob / Naish > Gawn / Def Rookie.
    • Bank: ~$30K
Notes:
  • These trades puts a good amount of points on the field, and good cash generation to upgrade Bray/Hanners during finals (WK19/20).
  • Sucks leaving Gawn as my last premium upgrade, but was committed to ROB after his huge 146. Still some money to be made, and it allowed me to upgrade other areas (Hello 180 Macrae).
Does this seem reasonable? Or am I in too deep?

Cheers! Trying to make the most of it as I'm expecting to fall away now the byes are over...

Definitely worth considering but I'm actually seeing Walsh as a bit of a POD at the moment - nice fixtures, hopefully refreshed after the bye and everyone has traded him out!

You are right in that I don't trust Blakely in the slightest though!

Always worry when a player is covering a 1 week injury
Having said that I am tempted to save 92k on a rookie forward over Rose this week.

Yeah not sure how likely it is given Lynch was already out in Adelaide's last game, so I'm not sure how he comes in for a player that's already out? Interesting nevertheless.

I've held Hately since whenever he last got a game, kept hoping his form in the seconds would get him back in and just kept having other trade priorities. I FINALLY get to trade him out this week (+Hore to pay for Hanners) and of course now he gets named.

What sucks most is all of my mids are mids only and its the one line I'm still needing a playing rookie. I'm seriously considering trading Bewley instead even though he still has plenty of money to make and putting Hately on field instead of D.Clarke. Whichever way I go I reckon I'm pretty much a certainty to pick wrong on this one.
