Not a chance on earth of us dropping Florent one of our few multi positioned players, and if we do Horse has made a bigger blunder than having a tall as a sub!
One of our few multi positional players??
You mean other than: Heeney, Parker, Clarke, Fox, Lloyd, Mclean, Francis, Cunningham, Papley, Mills, Campbell, Gulden?

Anyways I know he is an unlikely out. But I think Fox has a clearer job to do than Florent. It's far more likely Clarke goes back out and the deck gets shuffled positions-wise.

Might be an unpopular choice but I think Fox has to come back to match up on Rohan and/or Blicavs, and Florent not a bad choice to come out.

Assuming also that they are going to bring Buddy back for ? , McCartin in for one of Melican or Francis and possibly Hayward for Clarke.
Francis might be a better match for Hawkins leaving McCartin to intercept.

That's a heck of a lot of change for a team that just won by 170 though.
Fox in sure, but no way we drop Florent. You just bring him in for Clarke, then you can shuffle players around. No problems having an extra defender given we have several players capable of being both at half back and the wing, and others capable of moving up to half forward.

Given our selectors it's far more likely we drop Fox to the 2s, bring Hayward in and move Clarke to sub.

All bad moves, but more likely.

Likely to happen I agree. But I fancy Clarke to disrupt them moving the ball more than Florent is able to. And Fox more able to defend, and get us going than Florent. I just think Fox is a better player than Florent.

Will be interesting to see Sheldrick in this game. He looks like a tank out there. If he can do better for us in the middle than we managed in the GF it might make it far more of a contest.

I was thinking after last weeks game that if there's not enough room for Fox in our backline, surely Florent could be shifted around to accommodate him. Florent is more capable of playing up the ground than Fox is and I think Fox is more valuable to the back 6. I wouldn't drop Florent, but I'd certainly looking at shifting him at someone elses expense to keep Fox down back.

I'm okay with those two but it would be those two at a max no more. This means no Hayward or Bud coming back too. WCE or not it was the best the forward line functioned in months!
Even excluding last week - we've averaged a score of 107 with Amartey, McDonald, and McLean as our starting key forwards this year.

You are highly generous on half that list. You aren't dropping Florent, he will be critical whether it be mid/or defence. Just makes the right decision more than not. If you want Fox, Clarke goes out. I wouldn't make the change personally.

Yep. Been saying it all year. If Bud plays I want him nowhere near the forward line, play him off a wing.

Don't want fox to be the sub. Need his physicality, skills & athleticism this game. IF Blicavs plays in the mids then I wouldn't mind fox tagging him. Think it would be a good match up. Blicavs has been crucial to the cats wins against us.

Hoping sub is Hayward or Clarke.

I'm with you on this, sounds a bit nuts but I would tag midfield Blicavs with Fox or Rampe. I think both have the skills and footy IQ to be dropped in the deep end

I think Hayward will play or be sub for Clarke/Fox, but wouldn't be surprised if that was only change.

Hayward should be nowhere near the side on form

I have to control the high expectations I have on Gus. He might be as strong as a small ox but he is still 19 and only played a few games.

Like any 19 year old, he’ll have good games & quiet games.

The thing I’m loving most is his ability to distribute off both sides (both kick and handball). It’s a skill possessed by the absolute best inside mids.
