The first game I took my rugby league supporting wife to was Saints v Tigers in 04. Bought her a Saints scarf. We were sitting next to a senior player (some spud who only played 20 or so games) and a bunch of Saints fans. It is quite obvious at this point that she should be barracking for the Saints. Richmond kicks a goal in the 1st Qtr and my wife starts clapping....
She said it was a good kick.

We lost. Needless to say it was a quiet trip home.

And ... let me guess ... your wife is now a rusted-on 13-year Richmond member.
(PS: You may be the only person on BF to learn that I was actually there in 1966.)

I just hope you richmond supporters remember to keep your fluids up! The number one ingredient for good spittle is H20 :)

Are you guys still banned from bringing lighters to games?

I think they just ended up banning little people instead, don't quote me on that though

does the AFL still force you guys to use umbrellas when running down the race? I would have taken the 'shower cap' deal if I was you

*banter off* how stupid is it than umbrellas are banned these days??? Used to be an art to how to manage it without effecting those around you, but im guessing some selfish twats started bringing golf brollies to games.

Also on the runs, its pies and port fans who were famous for that, and its a non issue now because the runs are covered. Pity, because i would loved to have seen Curtis Deboy cop a beer shower :p

There is no possible reason to bring an umbrella to a football match. There's 60,000 seats with a roof over it for a reason.
