In his situation maybe not with 5 trades remaining though.

He already has a complete midfield too, while Newman is his D6 so only room to improve rucks and forwards imo.

Question probably is does he upgrade Greenwood eventually or holds him as cover?
Both good suggestions. If i were to bring darcy like Bandicoot suggested it would be for parson which would net me more $$$ then trade greenwood out next week for a premo fwd (ala heeney). That would leave darcy + cox as cover for rucks/fwds + 4 trades + about 150k in the kitty.

oooorrrr like pups suggested, i could just go parson >>>> gawn (or martin).... (or even heeney and bench greenwood but wouldn't have ruck cover but could later trade out nank).

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thinking of targeting Brad Hill or Koby Stevens as my final forward as a bit of a POD
Chad Wingard also a bit of a potential POD only owned by 560 coaches
Hard to predict who the Top 6 forwards will be

The only question marks on Stevens is durability and if he can sustain his tackling oriented game.

Hill scores better without his brother, he's an 80-90 guy normally with his brother though.

What about Billings? Could be worth a punt, I rate Tom Lynch highly too, both Billings and Lynch have good 100s ratios.

I will probably not trade this week, allow Greenwood to grow another week (even though I could afford any of these guys) and consider which Forward to bring in
Cash is pretty important at this stage, and a 78 will give Greenwood an extra 37k

Barrett > Witherdan is a lock...

Even thou im wasting a trade here this has to be done i needed Newnes for the bye and also hoped he would keep putting up low 100s but thats not the case so thats a fail if i want to stay around top 100 he has to go i can move him onto any MID i like thinking maybe GAJ or Zorko and next week either Ainsworth or Greenwood will goto to Jelwood

If you wait to round 18 Jelwood will be around $400K.

i am now thinking:
Roughead -> Darcy (move Cameron fwd)
Swallow -> Mitchell

the week after:
Cameron -> Thomas,J

meaning i'll lose my ruck/fwd link with Nank, but i suppose it's worth it since Sean Darcy is the f***ing man :thumbsu:

How confident are people that Gawny will improve his scoring and average over 100 for the rest of the season?
If his scores are like two games back so far (96 & 81), hes probs not worth it but if he can regain some form happy days.
Is he just regaining match fitness?

I'd say he'll be in that 80-100 range most weeks, but he'll probably have 1 or 2 monster 120+ games also which boosts his average somewhat.

At 493k he's still solid value and I'd rather field him at R2 instead of a Nank/Witts type.

It comes down to Parson >>> Martin or Gawn. (or even Kreuzer if i trade out Greenwood).
What would be your preference? Im guessing Gawn :p

I have Stef/Grundy and when they play solo they're miles ahead of everyone imo, though Kreuzer has earned his status as top 3 maybe top 2.

If Smith is dropped maybe roll the dice with Stef, if not then back Gawn

Imo Greenwood is worth keeping for coverage, Parsons isn't.

What do people realistically see Darcy averaging? I see people putting him at R2, which seems a bit far-fetched and rather risky IMO, despite what he has shown so far. Having him at R2 tho does save tons of cash however

No.1 ruck from now on, easy draw as far as ruckmens go....can't see why he can't average 90-100+....saves alot of cash going him R2.

Look at who he has for rest of the year:
Goldy - cooked
Eagles- no decent ruck
McEvoy
Mummy - his toughest opponent so far
Witts - injured?
Swans - no decent ruck
Nank
Bellchambers - potato

HE should dominate the HO's you would think.

I recon him vs Gawn for rest of the year, won't be too far between each other....so question is, can you make use of the extra $370K?

Here is an interesting exercise to see the depth of sides

Go through each position (ordered by average) and list the ranks of the players you have.
For me (excluding benches)

DEF: 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 26
Heath Shaw the obvious outlier there ranked 26th for Defenders. Also not owning Docherty is painful

MID: 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 15, 36, 93
Greenwood obviously M8 at this stage and should become Jelwood in a few weeks. JPK at 36 ideally should come home strong

RUC: 1, 3
Martin and Grundy like most, pretty happy to keep this setup as well. Reckon Martin will lift late in the season like he did last year.

FWD: 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, 18
Not too bad in the forward line, with Nank 18th ranked my F6.

One thing I get from that is that I should perhaps be more worried about carrying Shaw on field (26th), than Nank on field (18th).

Might be more useful to look at 3 or 5 round averages to gauge current form? Really doesn't matter what players have averaged to date, just what they're scoring now and from now on.

Interesting, this is my team in this format:

DEF
1,2,3,6,7,8
MID
1,2,4,6,7,11,14,16
Ruc
1, (2,3 or gawn[trade])
FWD
1,2,7,12,13,18

The rucks are getting interesting.

With Martin starting to spud it up every other week, a trade is tempting. The logical replacement, Kreuzer, is $100k+ ahead of him now, however. While I can afford that moneywise (245k), I can't afford it tradeswise (4). Also, I know Kreuzer will get injured the moment I trade him in.

The talk of downgrading Martin to Darcy is a bit silly. But if you have plenty of trades it might be worth a shot.

I've had Cameron as my non-playing ruck backup all year and haven't had to use him once (bye rounds aside). Not having Nank meant I've never been able to use his DPP. But if Buzza keeps getting games I might be able to change that, because I can downgrade a Parsons/Ainsworth, make cash and at the same time get ruck coverage.

Wow, that draw is incredible!!! Don't think he'll average 100 but a 90+ average is certainly possible. Think I'll make him my R2 and just rotate him with Nank every week based on match-ups

If you're feeling adventurous you can come ride the Walters roller coaster with me. Averaging 102 since moving into the midfield 8 weeks ago. Only in 624 teams atm
