Has the Melbourne Football club got no imagination. Why don't they wear their old 1980s royal blue guernsey??? That would be way better than this piece of rubbish that has similarities to the St Kilda Guernsey.

They've got plenty of imagination:

Ha ha, you know what I mean. All they have to do is wear a slightly different home jumper ( one that was their only jumper for fifteen years!), that looks great and would make a better contrast with StKilda, Essendon and Carlton away games (emphasise a colour that the opposition don't have, that is royal blue) and it looks like a Melbourne Demons jumper!
As for the Bulldogs, I also know our away jumper is terrible, but the great news is we haven't worn it this year yet!

I said it somewhere else why can't Melbourne have a blue V with a red background. Would that look any good.

The inverse solution. The obvious go-to for clash resolution. I almost feel like it should be a League-wide edict - "thou shalt invert thy strip in the first instance, and you can take things from there if it doesn't work."

And the southern cross and the football. Then give it a major clean up, using the new monogram, centering the fork thing and completely remodelling the wordmark. Then it would be acceptable.

Buut we're getting a bit OT here
Eh it's still better than the new one.

The new Tigers one is pretty poor too, the old one looked better it just needed the tiger sharpened up.

The Collingwood shield is the one that really shits me, If you're going to have the Australian flag on the left then hang it from the pole properly don't hang it backwards.

Their old logo had the Aussie flag on the right, hanging properly from the flag. They had to change it - vexilology says that the national flag has to be one the left and flying left to right.
Collingwood had to either have assymetric flagpoles an unbalanced logo, or omit the poles altogether, as they have done.
Eddie's got it right this time.

I always imagined them to be on poles, which meant I felt the Australian flag should be flying right to left. The old logo had it on the wrong side; to me this one looks like they've hung the flag off the pole by the wrong end

This is what I figured was "behind the scenes" of the logo, and why the flag should be flying the other way (substituting Greece for Collingwood of course)

Yeah that's how i think it should be it would look the least wrong out of flying it on the left. The old logo was a bit off by having the magpie tail feathers cover up the union jack as well. Could always just remove the Australian flag all together though, but that would be a massive shitstorm.

Wow I never noticed the Aussie flag flying like that. It's very wrong. Should have just flipped the magpie so his tail was the other way. Or was there another reason they had to change it. Fancy including the Aussie flag in a logo. Get ya hand off it

The national flag is meant to be on the left when flown, it's an order of precedence thing.

i.e. National > State > Local Council

O yep, but they indicate the flag pole would be attached to the wrong end of the flag. Surely they know that. They should switch it to match the badge above

Yeah if they are going to keep it so that the flag looks like it is flying then they really need to change it so it flies correctly from a pole otherwise they should just switch to flat flags or get rid of it all together and just have 2 black and white flags.

One of the reasons that Collingwood has the Aussie flag in its logo could be that their original colours were red white and blue when they were known as Britannia?? Someone may have a better grasp of the history than me??
