Prediction Round 18 Changes. Freo vs Collingwood.

Thank the gods that Tabs has reappeared on the horizon. We may have a player who might occasionally mark Ryan’s long bombs. Our current batch of talls seem pretty useless at this facet of the game.
People have poured a lot of shit on our smaller players recently but Darcy, Jackson, Treacy, Cox and Pearce have let us down since the bye.
In any case everyone knows we’re going to struggle for consistently good performance until we assemble a strong midfield. You can add or subtract as many Banfields, Hughes’s or Sturts as you want, it’s not going change things.

The most frustrating thing about being a Freo supporter is that the club has always struggled with expectation. Other than RTB era 2014-15.

Whenever we are favourite or seem to be going well, everything goes to s**t. As a club, we just don't know how to handle expectation and will always prefer to a dreaming underdog with high potential.

The funny thing is, most of us supporters are precisely the same. We dream and wish that some young player at Peel (who had a great kick in the third quarter an under 18 championship game) will be our savior and should be getting a game over some player who's played 100 games for us. Fun fact, that player never makes it.

We are forever dreamers, and that is our happy place and the clubs.

And for all those reasons, we will win this week!

Dont even care if Dockers make finals in 2023 or 24. If they dont make finals in 2023 and 24, that means only 8 times out of 3 we made finals. thats 8 years in and 22 years out. I could of Tolerated it more if We made 2 or 3 eras of back to back finals. Just those small eras of success makes a difference.

I’d be ruthless and drop Freddie or Shultz
for Sturt or drop Walker for Draper or Wilson, but they won’t.

Whatever happens I want to see one of Frederick, Switta or Schultz at peel this week. Put down a marker.
What they are dishing up is not acceptable and we need selection integrity.
Give Emmett a run. He wouldnt need to do much to replace the output of any of those 3 guys

I heard Frederick will not play vs collingwood. Apprently injured.

Saying that, I rather Nathan wilson and Travis Coyler play. Not the best players at least they will give effort.

I rather give a couple of Kids a debut game next week at home.

Cupboard is very bare, which is crazy given we havent got that many injuries.

Hamling to come in, but he's hardly the intercept type that Cox is, he's more your old fashioned 1v1 defender. might have to shuffle Ryan to be the loan intercept. Mason Cox could really stretch us.

Not sure which insider replaces Serong? O'meara i guess as full time in the midfield, maybe sharing with Ras.

Would think Young is replaced by Wilson.

I'd like to see Colyer in the team for some experience around half forward.

Such a shame Brodie isnt fit. I know he's not in JL's cool gang but he was a serious part of why we won the clearances more last year.

Alex Pearce has to take mason cox.

I dont see freo beating port in round 23 but beating the hawks at the mcg is possiblr too.

Yeah let’s rest anyone with a broken fingernail so we can blame injuries and not list management/ poor coaching.

In: Sturt, Wagner, Worner (into the 22) Brodie, Sub Colyer.
Out: Hughes, Aish, Switta, Freddy, O'Meara
If Worner isn't declared fit then Hughes would get a final chance and Walker would spend time on the wing with Wagner playing mostly defence and some wing. What would be your changes?

Most of the people I would play aren't available.
Brodie isn't available so I would keep Jaeger.
Hamling for Cox (but won't happen) and have Ryan playing Young's role.
O'Driscoll to wing.
Aish for Serong, Jaeger, Erasmus, Brayshaw, Johnson.
Sturt (might be injured) for Freddie
Colyer or Wagner (unlikely) for switta. Wagner's strength is his kicking so he could play hhf.
Or Wagner for Hughes.
Sub Banfield
Worner is out with a calf.
I think Walker could use a break so Wilson for Walker.

Sadly, it didn't work to plan for this current gen.

If we still had a few of Neale, Weller, Langdon, Lobb, Acres, Logue, Cerra and fit Fyfe and Tabs our team age balance would be a lot better. That said, the draft picks we acquired for those players worked well.

I still think we can bouce back next year. But it's a tough competition and we've had a pretty good injury run this season. We can't afford to lose Darcy or anyone else of quality, if so, we are set for middle of the road mediocrity for next decade.

He should be playing WAFL because if he puts those numbers up again he could debut before the season end. Especially when it looks like Henry could be leaving.

Pretty sure he will get a game before end of season. JL said his name was mentioned at the selection meeting and that he was named as emergency means he is very clise. Also prob debuting against pies might not be best and have Drizzy in instead
