Interesting comment from one of the Carltoon players was that (training wheels) Teague has clarified what each players roles are and that he's playing them to their strengths....it's the main reason why I'm looking at Murphy, I still might bring him in
I wouldn’t do Murphy. He may average 90 for the rest of the season? Better off keeping a rookie for another week (-20 points x 1 round) and upgrading to Uber premo (20+ Points per week x remaining games)

Been Uber premos for me only since pre byes. Resulted in being ranked 20,000 a couple of weeks prior to byes to now a handful of spots outside the top 1,000

Murphy could do 100 in imo. One of the attractive things is 54 BE and match ups v Suns and Crows. Could easily rise 50-60k over these next 2 whilst scoring well and then hop onto an Uber premo. If your a Brayshaw owner like me and short of cash, Murphy is a good option

Do I get Taranto or Whitfield in??
Just worried Whit could be a target if his collarbone is still not 100%?

Both are keepers, so I'd be comfortable with either, depending on whether your Mids or Def need more of a patch up. Whitfield should outscore Taranto over the season, and there are fewer uber premium Defs, but is higher risk of a tag this game - but I think he still gets 90+ minimum this week, so not a big deal.

Thanks for the advice on Curnow v Murphy, y'all. I think I'm going to gamble on Curnow still. I'm not in the running for a hat, so will cave into my irrational love for the guy from a few seasons ago!

At the moment I can do Murphy and Newman from Cogs and Hore.

Otherwise someone like Hind/Eggman is on field and I still have no cover. While Murphy might not be a true premium, he is better than the alternative...

After trading Witho > Stewart, my team looks like this:

Lloyd, Laird, Salem, Stewart, Shep, Sicily
Macrae, Yeo, Sloane, Kennedy, Brouch, Oliver, Duncan, Ziebell.
Grundy, ROB
Danger, Boak, Dunkley, Telly, Worpel, Heeney

Only 28k in the bank.

Do I...
1) dump Ziebell/Heeney/Worpel and replace with a mid (Cripps, Neale, Zerrett)
2) downgrade a bench rookie (Larkey) so that next week can go ROB > Gawn and Option 1
3) do the downgrade but then reverse Witho > Stewart and do Witho to Whit, leaving little cash...

Leaning one way but keen for some opinion...

Are Bewley or O Baker likely to come back in? Wouldn't mind some MID bench cover. Walking the tightrope atm

Baker would be some chance you would think. Had a good game in the VFL.

Bewely got a lot of possessions but was apparently quite wasteful. Probably fighting for a recall with Banfield who probably had the better game of the two in the WAFL.

Any danger of this being a weekend where no one gets injured?

Might be nice.

Really concerned with bringing in Whitfield for Coniglio.

I'm concerned for a tag/injury, but then on the other hand... its whitfield and we all need him eventually so may as well just grab him this week?

Not sure who I'd pick instead as I've got all the big midfielders (that aren't injured) other than Zerrett/Duncan.

League match-up has Whitfield so more thinking about bringing him in to nullify him.

Next week I'm bringing in a premo midfielder (barring injury) so a Duncan/Zerrett/Taranto type. perhaps I'm better off reversing my order of trades and giving Whitfield that extra week?

How important is the league match up? If you need to make up ground probably worth passing on him and hoping for a quiet game to try win. Very risky though given he's a safe 115 unless injury strikes...

If you're already in finals, just do whatever is best long term regardless of match up (Whitfield in imo)

I'll make finals win/lose. But a win probably cements me in the top 4. A loss will almost assuredly match me up against a tough opponent in an elimination final.

Think I'll grab Whitfield purely because I'm not confident on bringing in any other premo into my side at this stage.

Dangerfield a no show on the track at Geelong's training today.

Hasn’t been a media article about him for a few days, probably feels unloved....

Word of warning then, i brought in Whit so expect some kind of first quarter injury...

This sort of stuff just seems to happen when the competition jump on a certain player. I've always been part of that group but this time I'm gonna go against the grain and wait a week. Which means he'll bang out 150.

Im going to go with PAFC27's theory and go against upgrading to Whitfield (at least for this week). I will also keep a big name at F7 (I haven't worked out who just yet) which gives me cover everywhere but in the ruck.

With Burton out for a while I'm thinking Hartlett will take his already decent scoring, to another level and be a very nice fit for my vacant D6 position.

My second move will be Cogs to Cripps. Cripps is in the talks for my captaincy this week as I'm thinking he goes big again against GCS, that makes him a must have this week.

Leaves me with 88k to upgrade ROB next week.

I'll be trading RO'B > Gawn next week too, really wanted to do it this week as Gawn is up against the Wet Toast

A few have said Mayne goes to Whitfield this week based on last week. However, hurn and Whitfield couldn't be further apart when it comes to role and type of player. Hurn sits in the hole and picks off intercept marks in deep defense and hack kicks coming out of the opposition's D50. Whitfield is a two way player who can sustain top end speed for near-on all game, and can play a multitude of roles (attend centre bounces, play off half back, play a higher forward role for stints and kick a couple of goals, start or get on the end of scoring chains etc).

To me, Hurn is the kind of player Mayne can go to based on similar physical attributes but he isn't cut out for a full game on Whitfield. Zac Williams on the other hand could be a possibility to get Mayne. That's the more likely scenario for mine.
