You don't have to look like you down steroids for a living to be strong, though the size issue would have more to do with endurance and a lower dietary intake that's required to maintain that physique of strength, or just shitloads of creatine for water weight.
I feel like we have filled our S and C team with academics who don't understand the game.

Yes you don't have to be huge to be be powerful.

But in a contact sport like football size and inertia still matters.

I'm not going to go back and type out the litany of mission accomplished near enough is good enough we don't listen to feedback bullshit that has come out of that man's mouth since he became captain. If you haven't heard it then you haven't been paying attention. Start with the pathetic post match interview after the Hawthorn game and work in either direction from there.

Not a bad crowd really for a shit timeslot and a rebuilding opponent.

Was the fewest Richmond fans I’ve seen at one of their games as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remedial tackling class down at Alberton where players tackle at the hips and not so high. Drives me crazy. At least hit the body.

Sinn bounced off a tackle in the first. Not impressed. IIRC, his shoulder looked a little off.
I reckon Mead had a couple of missed tackles too.
Burgoyne had a more difficult tackle on McIntosh which resulted in a goal.
I'm sure there were plenty more but those stuck out for me.

Was great to see Lachie Jones bounce back from last week's game. Was strong and decisive, took some big marks and some powerful spoils as well as a couple of dashes with ball and some ripping kicks and handballs upfield to release running players. Much better, hope his knee is ok.

Thought Sinn played his best game, found a good amount of the ball, used his pace and his kicking was a weapon.

Was good to see Mead get in amongst it, won plenty of ball in tight and fed it out.

Willie Rioli had a great first half playing midfield and forward but I think his engine blew up at half time.

Great to see Peps find some form and get among the goals.

And I love having a big powerful ruck who can bang up against other monster rucks like Nankervis and at worst break even. He even shows more confidence at ground level and with the ball in his hands.

Well done to Moraes on a tidy debut. I'm sure the plan was to introduce him after half time but played close to 4 quarters when Lukosius went down early, did what was asked of him and used the ball well.

I would persist with Berry, it's a tough ask being the apprentice half forward, while being managed, but his vision and kicking when he did get it was special. Needs to nail a set shot for confidence.

I’m gonna hazard a guess that the problem is the same dumb chiding about how he says nice things about his coach sometimes.

Problem was crows supporters couldn't be in two places at one time. ;)

The lack of physical size, and I'm not just referring to height but the all important upper body strength required to win finals (particularly the shoulders and biceps) was still an obvious issue yesterday even against a team with a number of undersized teenagers.

Port still has too many blokes with the physiques of Ethiopian marathon runners on a lettuce leaf diet, which was ok against a team like the tiggers that gave them so much space to work in, but they won't get that amount of freedom against the better teams, and as has been mentioned by others the club has a top class gym facility but a hand full of exceptions aside there still appears to be more than a few players who need to find the key to it!

Ken’s team mirrors his race dogs, lean and fast. He’s a weird unit Ken.

Some of our players don’t look like they’ve picked up a weight. At their young age, even looking at weights gives you size and strength.

I noticed in the hawks game lots of chests!

Is there any update anywhere about Luko? What actually happened? Cant see anything other than “knee concern”.
I'd suggest it is either bone bruising (good) or PCL (bad) based on what was described. They would probably have a fair idea based on ortho testing but it will be confirmed via a scan on Monday and they probably won't announce til then.
