Michael Jamison Shoulder...gone. Once he left, Bradshaw turned the tap on. No Rating due to injury

I think we can rate his effort highly precisely because he kept the tap turned off for a half. We're going to miss him.
Chris Johnson Serviceable game. Looked stronger in the air tonight in one on ones. Used the ball ok, but never threatened Brisbane by running of bhalf back and delivering into 50. 5/10
It's not that he didn't try, it's that teammates kept ignoring him when he ran forward. When you've got someone by themselves on the 50 as skilled with their foot as he is, you use him whenever you can.

Congrats on the win guys.

Your midfield is class, class, class.

Quick favour to ask though. If any of your mods are about, this bloke is being a bit of a pain in the ass over on our board.

All our mods are asleep so if one of your blokes can take a look, that would be good. He's derailing what was some fairly good banter between our two sides.

Craig Bolton normally gives Brown considerable trouble, Rutten too.
piss off you pussy

I agree once again turned it over at critical stages, I fail to see what the MC see in him. JR out next week and Grigg in, I am sure the JR lovers who never seem to see his turnovers will come in here shortly and tell us we shouldn't be bagging him, because having a opinion on players if it's crictical is bagging.

As a 'JR supporter' I was not really pleased with his game today. Slipped from recent improvements.

Could be in some strife.

That said Bower got pantsed, gartland looked out of his depth and (dare i say it) Judd was VERY quiet in the 3rd/ 4th.

The play where Mitch took on 2 Lions players and just ran through the center of them showed he is confident, and he has some pace to him as well. He is very evasive and I can't believe we got him at #40. Why did he fall so low? I am not complaning this kid is going to be a star.

Big crowd today, was sitting on the wing 6 rows from the fence. We started of like a steam train out of control, slammed on eight goals in the second quarter and then stopped in the third. But the Lions always seem to do this to us, they hit us hard in the third quarter and with Jammo injured Bower was out muscled by Bradshaw. But to our great credit we stood up and hit them back, led by Robinson, Murphy, Gibbs, Waite. It was good to see our young boys stand up under pressure and not go to pieces like we used to. We should be proud of this win because it came against a tough team, who know how to pressure a opponent at all times. Once again our tacking and pressure all over the park came through for us. One thing I noticed today was Garlett tries to do the team thing too often, he should just have a pop at goal insted of trying to do the unselfish team thing all the time. But Iam happy with the 19 point win, top work undefeated and on top. Big game again for us next week against the Don's. :thumbsu:

It was a good game I saw looks like a fist contacted a Brisane players face couldn't tell exactly as their was a number of players. I could tell when the Brisbane player put his hand up to his face/ cheek area so hope we don't lose a player anyway were 2-0. lets hope Essendon falls down against Fremantle. I'm sure we'll knock em off if we can get to 3-0 be good each win will give the kids confidence and brisbanes never easy
rather be 2-0 rather then 0-2 lets start to forget how to lose akka become unbeatable Look at Richmond nearly knocked of Geelong .
i'm going this weekend so be nice to see us win again .:)

hope we don't stop like we did last night not against Essendon couldn't afford that.

Judd had an excuse - he'd set up the game in the 2nd quarter and was recovering from flu.

Garlett was good again. He and Eddie were unable to put as much pressure on Lions defenders because they were playing a spare man a lot of the night. Garlett should have run a bit more and taken the shot at goal himself rather than passing into the pocket, but he probably thinks that's the team thing to do. Great kid.

I think that the reason why he didnt take the shot is because he is short on a bit of self belief and is a good team player so he was looking for the more experienced player...

if they had of come off, we would have been screaming down the house with comments about his vision and delivery.

just imagine in 2 years when he has a bit more bulk on him and a couple of years experience in the firsts...

he will know when to pass to a team mate and when to take on the opposition and go for the majors.

Then we will all be going whoa :)

Random, but Chris Johnson was great at one part last night. Was right in front of me when he bumped some brissy guy out of the way and marked. Ump called it shepherding under the ball or some crap.

Free kick to brisbane, Luke Power sets off, Chris Johnson catches him and holding the ball. Was great. :D. Probably already mentioned but was so good! :p

No argument from me there. Juddy wasn't himself during the second half, and fair enough with the Flu and all.

Not sold on Garlett (yet) - he's been average - good, however just gets pushed off the ball a little to easy. He'd be the first I'd drop. Send him off to the gym so he can start sculpting his guns.

Betts has been fantastic.

That was a bad call (overall umpiring was decent) no way that was shepherding, can't remember who the player was but he initiated contact and came off second best when Johnson held his ground.

Did anyone see the Johnson incident with Selwood? was on the other side of the ground and they didn't show replay....is he in trouble with MRP?

Shouldn't be.

Was good tough football.

Good to hear, what about Brown report? again same side couldn't see it.

I'm probably biased, but was nothing IMO. Who knows what the MRP will do though.

Sort of stuff that happened every game 6 years ago. Bit of niggle.

Hopefully he doesn't get rubbed out, I couldn't imagine him having any malice in it....

Love watching Brown play, was hilarious when Judd was clear by a few metres and double fist spoiled the ball over the boundary....was right in front of me and Brown started giving Judd shit in his hick "she'lllll be right" accent. Judd just kept running :D

More characters in the game the better

nuh not much in the brown incident...johnson freekick against then chase after was brilliant.

jus a note on juddy...saw him coughing after the game, maybe wasn't 100%? haha looking for excuses but he still did the job and woulda been a great night if it weren't for jamo getting injured.

Garlett isn't AFL ready yet. Lots of potential, but the best thing for his career will be to start him off in the VFL where he can get his confidence up. I'm hoping and expecting him to be dropped next week

Haha, the commentators pointed that out too. What did JB say?

I was very stressed during the third quarter. With Brisbane's last half efforts and our horrible work in the Midfield, I'm stoked with coming out with the four points and top spot on the ladder (so far).

Going on his form in the last two week, he deserves a spot in the team. My problem with him is that he can't stick a tackle, but he's still able to get the ball and run like a frightened cat, or Lion. ;)

Garlett - needs to get more selfish and have shots when he's in front. Does he kick on both sides of his body well?

Russell - Kicking to a lead is his weakness but his over all game is improving.

Simpson - looks like he has been told to handball at all cost which works out better for the team although he still needs to be able to kick. Can't kick goals and hit a leading target.

Cloke - not holding his marks like we would like to but he'll get there. It's just a match fitness thing.

Midfield - there was a period where they dominated clearences and were making a strong comeback. Shows we need Stevo and Grigg back in to rotate through there to rest our good players with other good players.

Robbo, AJ - AJ did a great job on Hooper, can any one beat AJ? Robbo looked to have a more defencive role and was serviceable.

Thornton - one of the best on ground, reads Brown well and beat him.

Every one had a pretty good night, lets hope they can recover for next week, looked like a tough game and i hope Judds flue doesn't spread around the club!
