He;s copping a heavy tag from a player that kept Kelly to 4 touches.

He has been missing regulation handballs uncontested this quarter.

I love Nuke. He's been awesome all season. He's been shit today tag or not.

Lewis iced up, Morris off & Kozi looking very sore.

Safe to say we will be rotating a few through the side next week

It might. But not as much as it seems to hurt you when you read something you don't like diddums!

DUKE!

He may be copping some attention, but he can still show his class at times.

Stuffed a few handballs, but that was awesome :)

Clarko did the exact same when we were a basketcase.

Get the boys trying to work it out themselves. Throw them to the wolves. See who sinks and swims when the pressure is on.

Sam made great moves and adjustments earlier in the season (see the Carlton, Geelong and Brisbane games) but now that finals is completely out of the question I don't mind the hardline approach.

There is clearly a way we want to play and we will only learn to play it through trial and error.

When the opposition prevents you from playing your ideal style you need an alternative approach. We simply don't have one. And asking the players to invent one isn't going to happen.

When our distributors are shut down, we have no answer. When our weak midfield is buillied physically, we have no answer. When our forwards are being scragged and tackled without the ball, we have no answer.

You can argue we're still a young team, but each line has experienced players (incl. premiership winners) who clearly aren't up to the task of shutting the game down, let alone leading the younger players and showing them how to adapt in adverse periods of the game.

Clarko's big thing was minimising the damage during down periods, and making the most of attacking dominance when it happened.

You simply can't expect a team to be able to play an attacking style all game, every game. Even if we didn't run out of puff trying, that's just not how the game works. The opposition is going to have up periods (unless they're North). The umpires are going to have a big say. The weather will change.

We have a lot of work to do here, which isn't news. But saying Mitchell has 'thrown them to the wolves' doesn't cut it as an explanation for me.
