Not potting him cause I LOVE the effort but feels like every time Cooper went for his hangers today, the ball bounced off his hands and 15m back to where it just came from into a Carlton player’s direction.

You could feel it at the ground, the weight of the moment caused us to crumble.

Can't get quality because AFL back slappers allow Fold Coast and lolnorf to get all the good players.

We won't be anything but midfield next year as well.

Don't expect us to compete any season soon. AFL happy to let us languish but other teams will get a leg up.

I thought that was an ok performance, if we'd been able to halve clearance then we would have won it imo.

The end result was about what I expected but how we got there was a bit disappointing. Our intensity and pressure in the first half was immense but by the end we could barely lay an effective tackle.

We're still a very young side and I think that was exposed a bit today against a more mature squad.

Have to wonder how costly those blatant umpiring errors in the first half turned out to be!

The midfield needs looking at big-time
We have the fwd power just nothing to deliver it to them

Clark started well but is weak.
Byrnes ain’t it. Let’s keep targeting from kickouts though lol.

Midfield great first half.

Midfield smashed in the second half - clearances abysmal.

Then lost our run.

Not a very detailed analysis but I reckon that’s it in a nutshell.

To be fair Carlton the form team of the competition but opportunity lost.

Team did the same down the line kick for half a quarter in the last to the point it kept coming back. I don't think Caminiti, Sharman, King or Marshall effected any contest in that Carlton run. Man, Max King

is just a momentum killer. Just his efforts around the ground feel so non-existent too. Having King, Sharman and Caminiti all in the forward line and M Owens on the ball meant our forward pressure was no where to be seen. Steele had a poor game, even though Wood got a lot of the ball he kept turning it over.

You have to seriously question Harvey here.

If we can fool a club into giving up 2 or 3 first rounders then we are set.

As soon as the ball gets out of congestion Hunter just becomes a complete liability, too slow to put any semblance of pressure on defensively.

Basically all our first half score was from pressure and Carlton butchering basic skills.

1 goal second half reflects this. Our midfield cannot generate scoring opportunities unless we get a clean run out clearance.

No club in history has achieved anything with a midfield like that

Brad hill in the contest when it’s hot is putrid. Saw that one coming from a mile away. Lost at selection with no run and carry in the second half. Someone tell me what Cordy provided? Sharman hammer and king don’t work

We’ve got no one else to bring in for Cordy - Van Es isn’t ready and Highmore is delisted in a few weeks
