Or we could give Neale a run which would also provide a marking target along the wing - something we've been calling out for over recent times

Come on Cats tell us your secret squirrel move to sooth the masses.
But sorry, that's Menegola's spot, plus chipping out at the feet of Sav if he's back. That's my gut feel.

Emergency list means you may get your wish with a late change.

I'm liking the idea of Cameron deeper with O.Henry and Rohan as the running jets though.
I actually loved the role Rohan played last week. I know we worry about Rohan getting beaten up in the ruck but he tends to be sore most weeks (no matter what role he plays) so I reckon we roll the dice and have him play the Blitz role. He adds something to the team coming out of the middle - size, power and speed. (This is why I wouldn’t have bought a tall in this week but we have Sav so I expect he might be back up ruck instead of my wish of Rohan)

As others have said - Geelong this week have been backed to win Pounds Shillings and Pence - now $1.43- $2.88 - i hope it is educated money - however i fear they will have burnt fingers

This isnt a Pt Adelaide suuck fest - because i dont fancy their flag chances at all - wont be beating either Magpies or Dees in Melb - even if they get to that stage

However if you look at their 3 losses - and they did win 11-12 in a row - they aernt machines - you cant win them all - so Carlton who have turned the corner - and have won i think 6 on the trot including Coll - and they have won most of those games by about 10 goals - and they beat Port by 8 goals in Melb - given what the opponent has subsequently has done - i think that is an allowable loss - after winnining 12 in a row etc . Next one was the Coll one in SA - they basically led the whole last qtr - till Elliot ( and hes now done it 3 times ) beat them at the death . No problem with that loss or effort - because it was against the No 1 team

Last week was the dissappointing one - but the Crows played tremendous football - and i think would have rolled most teams last week

Tonight they get Geel - who have got injuries - and their could be more late outs - and bar a few games the Cats performances have been pretty lamentable - thus tonight i dont think it will be much of a game - but given that opposition - i think Pt Adelaide will be just too good ( like its ladder position suggests ) and will win by 4-5 goals

But Geelong have been backed like there is no settling

I'll laugh if Menegola is sub - could will be the first time that the introduced sub has less leg speed than the players out on their feet after 3 quarters 😂

I can honestly see tonight being a comedy of errors, and we'll cap the night with Stanley as BOG and a 60m kick at goal after the siren to win - only for the bunker to review and deem he moved too far off his line and it was play on before his kick 🤪

But not sure there is a way to please the masses - some seem to prefer the option of shifting magnets around & trying to force the puzzle pieces together in the hope something will click

Others just want to see something different, especially after a frustrating season - we've got a good group of youngster waiting in the wings, watching them go about it in the VFL & it's hard to fault their attitude as they just seem to be getting in with it even though their form isn't exactly getting rewarded

I love that Knevitt didn't drop his head after his omission following the Bulldogs clash, and hope that him, Dempsey & Neale (if he's not a late in) just work their A$$'s off on the training track this week for even an outside chance of a promotion next week

But the frustrating thing is, we've got our last VFL bye this week - if we lose tonight, does it just make it easier to again go with no changes next week or will they finally give a few youngsters a chance, even it's after a week of no football...

Parfitt will be sub.

One thing for sure, they won't give up aiming for the eight, anything could happen, atm west coast is closing in on Essendone. So that says they'll probably persist with the tried and true route. I understand the reasons why we need to go the VFL guys, but be patient, just a tad too soon and still hopefully win tonight.

that will be MC strategy. Will extend to next week no matter what happens tonight. If we win they are vindicated and will have similar team next week. If they lose then it is truely an elimination final and I would find it strange they then turn around and put a few youngsters in when it last chance (tonight feels like it but it isn’t - we can drop 1 game and make it).

So people like me who wanted a couple more fresh faces this week will just need to accept that only happens in 2023 when/if we lose two more games. It is what it is and I have to support the MC who got it done last year and may pull off a miracle

Must purely be based on historical stats…and balance of probabilities that Cats very very very rarely lose two in a row at home. Gamblers place a lot of emphasis on trends reverting to the mean (even though history is not often a good indicator of the future) - that is why casinos and bookies make good money

You're aware missing Dixon, Aliir, Jones, Lycett, Farrell from first 22?

Yeah, but we're also missing "good form", which probably trumps those outs.

At this stage I'd love "ugly win" to be in the mix, but they've barely been sighted this year.

Its literally the only reason I see for why we will win tonight on socials etc.
"Yeah Hawkins injured, Blicavs injured, players out of form, Cameron couldn't hit the side of a barn from 5 feet out... BUT GEELONG DON'T LOSE TWO IN A ROW AT HOME!"

Wait, how is Port's 3 consecutive losses, including 2 thumpings "good form"?

We're a pessimistic bunch...

Plus, while we've both lost our last 2 matches, you managed higher scores in your last two matches compared with our shit efforts

We won't learn anything if we end up beating an emaciated Port.

False sense of where we actually sit?

Feels like it could be a little like the North game - that was a match we always felt like we should win, and while no real disappointing players that match, we knew we still needed to make changes

The win will mean little if they do indeed lose those two players as well.

I still think you will be too good - we couldnt beat Fremantle on our home ground this time last week - you wouldnt call that inspiring confident form
Freo have always played well against us-they have won down there not infrequently.

11 marks last week. Quick as lightening. 200+cm. The more I think about it the more I'm angry

I'm OK with not learning anything
