Beast Mode would have to be a strong contender for the rising star next year.

Scratch that, will have played one game to many if he plays this week.

Positives : 2nd qtr. Best qtr we have played all season.
Mathieson, Cutler, Mayes and Andrews all had very good games and hard not to be excited about what they can deliver in the future.
Richy deserves praise never gave up today and did some nice things.
Stef was good today and back to the form he showed last year.

Negatives : First qtr was poor when we should have come out pumped and ready. The tackling was atrocious.
We still can't run games out and still miss too many easy targets. Games into younger bodies will improves this in time but a good hard pre season would help as well.

Dangerfield is just a class above and i really wonder where the Cats would be without him and Enright this year. Those two players are going to need a lot of help in the finals. Not sure Cats are good enough but i wouldn't right them of just yet either.

Rhys Matheison- is going to be a gun for us. when he first come into the side he was rushed in his disposal and hence wasted a bit of the ball but he has really picked up the pace of the game very quickly and is making time for himself on the ball. was very noticeable today how much his disposal has improved.

Harris Andrews- how good is this young fella, so cool and calm under pressure, knows when to mark and when to spoil and invariably picks the right option with his disposals. he also very rarely gets out marked in a one on one contest.

Eric Hipwood- love his competitive spirit, always creates a contest and a spillage if he isn't quite there to attempt the mark.

Tom Cutler- always been a fan, he can provide exactly what we need out of the back half ie. run and gun.

also liked what Darcy Gardner did today, and thought Lewy Taylor ran his arse off and did a few good things as well. Ben Keays got to some good spots to provide an option but was ignored on more than one occasion.

On our opposition, I kept a close eye on Enright all day. He is an absolute champion. He had several different opponents throughout the day and dominated them all. Just so smart, hard at it and skilful. It was a pleasure watching him play.

Just reads the play so well and also he seems to read the ball in flight better than anyone else. Always in the right position and when he has the ball he never panics. Geelong are in for a world of pain in the coming years when he and Bartel, Mackie and Lonergan retire. Selwood will decline quick as well due to the nature of his game. Lucky they got Dangerfield.

1st quarter showed up the teams lack of confidence in each other - Bell going back added a bit of structure - good future either end for him.
Definitely think that Geelong would be in trouble without #35 - class act.
Geelong weren't that far ahead of the Lions - some of their players have a limited time frame ahead.
Really enjoyed the 2nd quarter - shut the loud mouth Geelong supporters around us up completely.

Don't we all. Didn't look too good at the end of the game though, hopefully nothing serious. His bump on Selwood was a real highlight for me today.

He'll be okay. Guy is harder than concrete and there's only one more game until he gets a chance to recuperate for a bit.

Logic said we would get a spanking today. One team was gunning for a top 2 spot, the other was second last (and only second last to a team minus half it's list, let's be frank here, it's only due to some very exceptional circumstances we're not getting the spoon this year). Never happy with a 10 goal loss, but thought it was on the lighter side of what could've transpired.

The first qtr kinda went as expected (though maybe a little worse than I had hoped), but loved seeing the spirit in the 2nd term. Was hopeful we could fight the whole game like this, but wasn't really expecting it to be honest. Love Cutler, thought Rich worked & tackled his arse off, Robbo was a machine as usual, and how could you not love Rhys Mathieson (although, I'm sure I'd hate him with a passion if I was supporting another team, that's a good sign).

Looking forward to seeing Jaden McGrath staying fit & cementing a place in the side in 2017 too. Liked what I saw of him last year. Is he still eligible for the rising star next year?

The main difference I noticed while watching the game was how much more RUN Geelong had - especially in the second half - compared to us. Tommy Cutler's been great to watch this season because of his run - the way he dashes forward from defence with his speed is so thrilling to watch and we need more of it. We can't just keep hand balling the ball; it's predictable, it limits our ball movement options when transitioning (mainly through the middle of the ground) and sometimes it's too easy for opposition teams to intercept. If we just incorporated some run to complement the handballing I wouldn't mind it so much. The cats really made us chase them today and you could see some of the boys looking absolutely exhausted by the end of the game because of it.

Overall im not dissapointed. But thats life as a Brisbane fan. When a ten goal loss feels ok. You know things are bad.

They will only get better. Our youth was on display today. Cutler mathieson andrews all had ok games. Mayes continues his progression as a classy half back. Gardiner showed some stick.

Only way from here is up.

Josh Clayton was better than his six disposals suggested.

Is maybe a tad slow but he has a lovely kick and seems to read it well in the air.

I'm seeing a Lester MKII but maybe with a bit more class. Could be a handy third tall along side the Schache/Hipwood towers in years to come.

I am pretty sure josh clayton is in an elite club of players who had two running bounces before his first possession - couldn't be too common surely?

Definitely didn't feel embarrassed by the performance which was something I was afraid of going in. I thought it could easily have been a 100+ game.

Clayton showed a bit of evasiveness and did ok for his first game.
