I know I'm a nuisance at times (some say all the time) but I wanted to just thank you all for all of your contributions to the board this year guys, it's been a tough one for many of us both on and off field and whilst the season as a whole was disappointing I'm glad we could notch up another win to finish off. Some good momentum to go into a hopefully better 2022 for us all.

We'll have the Saints BigFooty B&F in a few weeks time and a Finals discussion thread as we have done in previous years. If there's anything you'd like us to introduce for 2022 let us know.

Memberships for next year will be available in October, and November/December is draft & trade time.

Great team effort to finish off the season. Was really nice to just relax and watch the game care-free on a Sunday afternoon. Some notes:

• Cooper “the greatest” Sharman, I have full trust in the recruiting team, this kids an absolute star, stood up in the absence of King. Kicked 4 bloody goals. Rising star nomination potentially?
• Speaking of goal kicking, 7 multiple kickers without King. Pretty happy with that. 17 goals, 5 points total.
• Steele, 3 Brownlow votes, if he doesn’t win it, it’s simply because we threw away games this year. A great year for our captain nonetheless.
• Speaking of Steele, he was one tackle away from breaking the Home and Away record for most tackles in a season, arguably robbed of a tackle stat in the last minute but oh well.
• Congratulations to Jack Bytel for his first two goals in AFL, he had a very solid game, hope to see him in Dunstan’s spot next year (assuming he leaves) so he can build up some consistency.
• Saw some good stuff from Coffield, have a feeling he’ll have a good off-season. It’s in his hands, to turn the off-season into COFF-SEASON…. - Minga Tm.
• Looking back at our two main pick ups last off-season, being Higgins and Crouch, I’ve been super happy with these two. Both showed their strengths in this game, both are serious players. 49 disposals between them today.
• Great work from our smalls, Kent, Butler and Higgins all multiple goal kickers. About bloody time.
• Marshall had a super game, we’re lucky to have him.
• Interesting to see what happens with Ross this off-season, can’t remember him doing much this game but he touched the ball a bit I guess with 14 disposals. On the flip side, Hill did alright to pick himself up after last week had 19 before getting injured.
• Would love to see us improve our centre clearances next year.
• Kinda funny, this was the game that reminded me most of our pre-season games. The way we moved the ball, sharing the goals around, maybe it’s something to do with the pressure being off.
• Lastly, fret not, we’ve got all the tools to have a serious crack next season, and hopefully we can add resilience to the mix from lessons learnt in 2021. Think about all the players we were missing today (King, Clark, Gresh, Billings, Highmore, Byrnes, Ryder, Paton, and plenty others). Plus don’t see how our fixture could possibly be harder than it was this year. Blood some new youth, reload and get ruthless. Go Saints ❤.

Some nice signs for next year. Disappointing year and we have to be better than that but there's some nice signs with the younger crop.

Only disappointing thing is allowing essendon into the finals.

Great way to finish the year off.
It had its ups and downs, but I feel like we finished the year off pretty well. There are some great signs for next year.

Kinda funny to think it was 10 or 12 games ago we basically were at rock bottom. Fair to say there will be a few changes going into next year, but I think they'll all be positive.

Real shame we couldn't have pulled off one more win to slip into finals, but that's the way it goes.

Kinda feel a bit sad now the season is over, but it won't be long before we hit draft time, then preseason training news and then pre-season games themselves.


Well done to the AFL for (at least) completing the Home And Away season this year, just like last year, they deserve credit for keeping this beast moving. Having footy to take my mind off the shit in real life has been perfect.
