Gov going well

yeo fighting hard

Kelly apart from the slip going okay

Waterman presenting

Overall though the skills are just poor .....we do a good thing and then F**k up straight away...like taking a really good mark brockman and then kicking straight to the opposition

It’ll do something.

Cause what’s happening now is working great…
The issues at this club go so much deeper than the senior coach. Changing one person will not fix anything.

The most frustrating thing about this game is that despite how shit we were that quarter we actually did manufacturer what should've been 3 or 4 goals only to **** it up at the end. And it was the most pathetic skill errors.

It will be a start. You don't know until it happens what the flow on effects would be

Our Sheer inability to do anything it’s just incomprehensible. We can’t tackle, we can’t kick, we can’t mark, we can’t defend we can’t kick for goal. How does our coach still have a job?
How does anyone who has been a part of this shit show off the field for the last 3 yrs. Simmo and his mates should have been long gone.

And some of our fans think changing coaches will magically propel us back up the ladder.

No we don’t. But we do believe a fresh set of eyes, a fresh voice and a more positive direction will be a foundational piece of the change. Currently we tread water with a bloke quite clearly not sure what to do.

Ginbeys been quiet, ambles around a lot. Would like to see him use his speed more
Terrible entry into the F50 is the difference in this game.
Was only a matter of time til their midfield took control

Damn. You do sense then AFL as a sport has become more and more of a class divided sport if so.
At Optus last Sunday most of the prominent ads are for luxury goods, cars etc. even a real estate agent, Vivienne something. It’s a Australia thing, not just AFL.

At least there’s always Hungry Jacks for us. The last whopper goal wasn’t even from 50, they gave it to us out of pity I think.

A lot of negative Nancy’s on here - I’ve actually tipped us to lose by about 54 points by games end as that’s just where we’re at the moment - until some of these younger players get more games under their belt. As there’s no doubt the younger players will get overawed at times at this stage of their careers and mistakes will happen - I just want to see some signs of improvement. It is a bit of a repetition of last week though with our inability to score in this quarter and the Bullies now are having a run on and Simmo is clueless once this starts to happen!

Jamieson is 24 in a couple of months. Plays like he’s 17. It’s not going to happen.

Call that negative Nancy if you like but let’s be realistic here.

What, no way can AFL make decisions on our coach. It's 100% our clubs decision.

Sorry mate you are on your own here with that one.
Of course they can. "Change the coach or you are not getting any help" e.g. Priority pick

I'm sitting near where reid was chasing before the siren. Looked like he was just cooked to me . But not sure my son decided to go for a stroll after that and didn't see how he looked walking.

Yep.

AFL has zero leverage. We can do as we please. If we were a club reliant on AFL kk ey the AfL could tell us what to do. I think AFL told st Kilda to sack their coach a few years ago and they did.

AFL was also behind the revamp at Melbourne in early 2010’s.

They can’t do the same with us because we aren’t beholden to them.

Where we’re currently at is the result of YEARS of ignoring warning signs because we were too busy patting ourselves on the back after snatching a flag to notice them, plus YEARS of poor recruiting & list management, and YEARS of poor strength, conditioning, and rehabilitation.

What does sacking someone with one year left on their contract achieve other than crippling our soft cap?

If anyone thinks this will be a 5 yr rebuild is kidding themselves. It will be a minimum 10 yr rebuild with the amount of spuds we have running around.

Just don’t understand this kind of thinking. Yeah we’re bad and clearly have some players out there who aren’t AFL quality. But it’s not unfixable. The contested side of our game is already better in patches this first few rounds than it was last year. Skills are woeful but that’s a reflection of the fact we aren’t winning any easy footy. The kids will improve, we’ll hit the draft again and slowly get better. The idea we’ll be down for a decade is ridiculous

Theres only so long you can put up with this as a supporter tho.
It's frustrating but I'm here for this. Look at the first quarter. It works when the disposal is clean and we make smart decisions. When those things fall away, it puts our defense under tremendous pressure and we bleed goals.

It's round three. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
