A different voice could help though as looking from outside in it just looks like the playing group as a whole have stopped listening to Simmo - and the question has to be asked are they being coached correctly. Some players have gone backwards under Simmo’s watch and you have to ask why? When there’s a run on why doesn’t Simmo make some changes.

100% agree that there are a multiplicity of issues at the club.

However I think it starts with the head coach. It’s one of many changes that need to be made.

Then wait for the end of his contract and wave him off into the sunset.

Guy just trots our same gameplan year after year which doesn’t work he’s got more interest in the yearly dog race than getting players fit for a season. Been there for 12 years and it’s a stale as cats piss at least a new coach would try something different and actual have standards. Doubt Pyke will put up with this for too long.

Ultimately that decision would go down to our board and we won't be forced into it. AFL can suggest whatever they want to but don't have a say in how we operate as a club. We may even say we don't want the priority picks and fight our way through like we did last season.

No we don’t. But we do believe a fresh set of eyes, a fresh voice and a more positive direction will be a foundational piece of the change. Currently we treat water with a bloke quite clearly not sure what to do.

It is becoming more clearer, Simpson just ain't a coach that can do rebuilds. No shame in that, some coaches are just good at taking a squad and elevating them to the next level, whilst, some can only rebuild a squad from scratch. Rare to have a coach who can do both.

With the manner of defeats we are regularly copping now, you have to wonder what kind of long term effect it is going to have on most of the younger players. He should be moved on asap..

Circumstances are very diffeeent to last year. AFL lowered the luxury tax, and it would be 1 year we would be paying out simmo, not two and 20% of senior coaches salary is outside the soft cap now.

It wouldn’t destroy our soft cap the way it would last year.

It’s clear that simmo can’t get the defensive intent out of our players.

Senior players not listening, setting a bad example, young blokes following suit.

He has no idea what he is supposed to be doing. The number of times he is a moment too late to impact a contest because he eased up as he arrived to the ball is pretty disappointing.

I know you can’t rely on it and it would massively change the game, but gosh do we ever catch a lucky break? Can anyone name a single time we got lucky in that half? Coz I could name a few for the dogs
