Feels like our Women’s team has been cursed from day 1. Our “Marquee” players turned out to be average, and we couldn’t hold on to Garner and Chloe who turned out to become the best players in the league.

I’ve only had a glance here and there but remember thinking we lacked both athletes and players with good skills in 2018 and it’s still the case now.

Yeah, we lost our ruck after one season, forgot her name then the rot started when we started playing netball players, mind you Ash Brazil was a gun but was always injured or off playing for the diamonds. Sharni tried and was one of the best team players ever but the fact she was out number one ruck showed where our club was going with recruiting.

Of course having your whole midfield out and all the injuries we have was always gonna make things diffcult.

I'd trade Allen. She's been abysmal this year and could get something decent back.

These ladies aren't properly coached in the basic skills of the game or any game awareness.

That was what I got out of today. Bombing it long into our forward line and 3 WB there. Or kicking from their goal, we had three loose on her left and she kicks it to the right to a contest. And so much more... .

Happened so many times, couldn't watch anymore.

The effort is there though, just need more awareness and better coaching.

I don't think it would’ve mattered if we had Davey and Bonnici out there yesterday, we probably would’ve lost by 2 to 4 goals.
To me the issue is that any game plan we're trying to implement can't be achieved because of such a poor skill base. On top of that, this team is slow, and has too many of the same type of player, plus the fitness level is below the other teams.
This team needs an injection of a forward line, mids with pace and who can kick the ball to a target, and another 1 or 2 key backs.
I have mentioned previously to strip the list back, trade out what is of value to get us picks in the top 20 and build the team around Cronin, Schutte, Clarke, James, Allan etc and with hopefully Patterson joining us next season.
Revamp the development coaching of this team, and get new eyes in, to look after our recruiting, or change the list manager, and refresh that department.
Our recruiting has been poor from other clubs, and that needs to change. I mean out of the 3 players we traded in, between the 3 of them they will play a grand total of 1 game. Lee, unfortunately plays the 1 game and does her knee. The other two, l have no idea why we would bother recruiting. Both had serious injuries coming into this season and we more than likely won't see either of them this season.....
This program and team needs a full review at the conclusion of this season and alot of changes need to be made, otherwise this team will be completely irrelevant to the Magpie faithful....

Yep, this. Essentially missing Davey, Bonnici, Cann and Sheridan (hopefully she comes back), 4 of our top ball movement drivers.

Hard to gauge what might have been but take the pain this year, load up at the draft, hit 2025 with renewed optimism.

Precisely. Rome wasn't built in a day. Yeah it sucks to lose all the time, but we won't be down forever.
