Whatever happened to Snake Baker? Haven't seen him around the traps in eons.

And where's 3KZ is Football ? Do you feel uncomfortable turning up when you can't lambast Fagan?

Ok, I'll have a go in his place.

Acceptable win I guess. Should've been a 100 point win though. Probably would've been if Fagan didn't insist on playing his pets.

Or if Lester played ;)

What I like about Joyce and Payne is they take marks. You cant muck up the disposal if you don't have possession. They don't have 50 games between them. They will learn.

As a critic of Linc, the last 2 weeks have impressed me. No spexxies, just work and groundball smarts.

Clarkson is coaching them to play a gameplan they are not ready for, but he knows that. Comben's game, and the experience, is worth the rest to him.

And finally, where all the posters that were whingeing about playing at Mount Barker?

Yeah it appears Linc may have solved what appeared to be a weakness in our forward line. I have been banging on about the need for a more defensive minded player there. I'd love to know what his defensive stats have been the last couple of weeks. Pressure acts etc....

Really impressed with how we have managed to stop teams handballing through the centre third of the ground.

Against both Melbourne and Collingwood, we read their handballing really well and often "intercepted" them to great advantage.

Today it went to another level especially in the second and third quarters when we possibly had more handball "receives" from North players than North did from North players.

Fagan often gets criticised for his lack of matchday nous but I have a feeling that this may be a new strategy to counter handball happy teams like North who had162 handballs to our 133 today.

Without the benefit of stats, I would put money on our hanballing efficiency absolutely murdering that of North's

Jordan Lewis was just giving a summary of our game and said 'a couple of their big forwards who have been out of form' and then of the team generally 'trying to find form '.

Was he overseas last week ?

Where Joyce went wrong twice today was when he tried to get it to a better kicker and should've just punted it long.

He was trying to do the right thing. Made the wrong choice. He corrected that as the game progressed if people noticed.
When reading comments about Joyce and his kicking to me it seemed his mistakes were when he was trying to kick short. When reading your comments about just kicking it long i wholeheartedly agree with that.

Yeah comes down more to decision making rather than skill, I'm sure he'll be told to take more care if he wants to stay in the team but I don't think anyone can fault the rest of his game and also the way he, Payne and Andrews have been working together.

This out of form team and it's out of form forwards took care of the glamour premiership favorites in Melbourne and Collingwood.

Heaven help the rest of the comp if both the team and our forwards actually find form

Not sure what playing out in the sticks on a rural field has to do with the rest of your post.

Some of the media coverage is just garbage.

I said to a friend of mine. I don't remember the last time we took apart a true top 4 contender like we did against Melbourne. Not just beat them (which we have against Richmond & Melbourne in finals (just)), but took them apart. Then we went & did it against Collingwood too. Really happy with where we're at, in terms of how good our best can be.

These two teams are the premiership favs.

In the media: The difference between our home & away performances needs to be focused on though. Which Brisbane will turn up?

Lol. How about the two teams we just destroyed? They just had off nights. FMD.

Just about finished watching the game now. First time I've seen Sheezal.

Was this just an uncharacteristic game from Sheezal? Solid talent. Got a fair bit of ball sure, but gets a lot of kick ins & from what I saw was a pretty big turnover merchant. Maybe today was a down day. I guess we all have them.

11 turnovers I read on the Norths board. Over 100 points were kicked from turnover. Need the hype to settle a bit before getting a true read on him. A couple of once in a generation type kids going around at Melbourne clubs at the moment.

The backup ruck role is clearly the key to Joe Daniher. Keep him involved, keep him hot, keep the blood pumping.

Has too much time to think as a pure forward. Thinking is not his friend.

Fort’s ability to present as a genuine second/third tall opens up a wealth of possibilities.
I thought for the first time since D-Mac left that someone played his marking role and that was Fort - IDK where that leaves of Gunston, but as Martinson said, I thought our structure looked best all year, which probably isnt surprising as we had such a big win, but agree that Joe looks good going in the ruck and much better than he did last year.

All up, I like Fort in the team.

The effort has been there from Joe all season despite what some media personalities might have you believe.
I genuinely thought Joe was excellent against the Dogs with his chasing and 1% - his goalkicking just let him down but was obviously still getting it - i thought the critisism after the game by the media was very OTT.

I thought you meant Dylan McLaren for a moment there. Winding back the clock.

He's not the first name that pops to mind when you're talking marking. Or kicking, handballing, tackling, ...

We were at the bulldogs game and i or should i see we as our group at the game all noticed a few times his effort was very poor in some contests especially when the ball hit the ground. Few times he just aloud his opponent to move towards the ball and get the ball where he just hung back. Couple of times it did happen. Only my opinion but his one percenters were very average at times during that game. The thing that stood out for me a couple of times during that game when he was playing on Liam jones was that jones was aloud to come in 3rd 4th man up and impact the contes but Joey was still few metres to the side or behind not having any impact on the contest. At least try and keep jones away from impacting the contest if Joey is not going to have any impact on the contest. Only my opinion what i viewed during the game. His intensity has been far better the next 2 weeks.

How did Lyons go when he got subbed on - obviously the world didn't end but was he back to his best or ... ?

Re Joyce I noticed other players choosing to give him the ball to take kicks so he is not perceived internally as a ruck-like kick (or alternatively the other side knew he sucked so made a point of leaving him free so he could take the kicks....)
I thought Lyons went OK. Was able to hold his man and create space for Neale at centre bounces. Same at stoppages. Didn't really notice his run, he did find himself in space a few times looking to receive, more fwd than back tho. No idea of his stats. Played inside mid only, so was allowed to play to his strength. Not sure he offers more than Dev if Dev's given the same inside role instead of a wing /mid role he usually gets as sub. Others impressions may be different, there was so much going on that I wasn't completely focused on him.

Fantastic win, good vibes and good percentage boost. Really think Wilmot is something special - is not error free but puts 110% into everything and you can see how much he loves it. Joe and Hippy were brilliant, would have loved for them to get 10 between them just to be like 'and what?' to the Carlton Duo, but the selflessness was worth much more. We should have won and we did win, can't ask for more than that!
