We have one spare above the minimum 26 which is Dewar who at this stage of his career is barely WAFL level, let alone AFL

I’ve assumed Jamieson will be fit. If he’s not Foley comes into the side as neither Barnett or Bazzo are ready yet

Foley could replace any one of West, O’Neill or Trew but he was the one I left out since he’s not played in 3 weeks so rather he finds touch in the WAFL. Alternatively he could be sub instead of Ginbey if our young star needs a proper rest

Yep

The only other option is Barnett and I don’t think he’s ready but playing Rotham as No. 1 ruck also leaves us short down back so Barnett maybe gets a game out of necessity

Early Saturday game so they’d be flying out early this afternoon to allow for a captains run tomorrow I would have thought?

Hopefully the usual sports journos are out at the airport prior to the team dropping at about 4:20pm.

By all accounts Jamieson should play thankfully, avoiding two equally bad situations.
What if we were to play both? Jamieson isn't quite fit, Barnett not having to get smashed all game. Mitigate both risks to a degree

Lycett dropped in favour of Brynn Teakle apparently. I wouldn’t mind Barnett getting a debut against Teakle and Finlayson, wouldn’t be the most physical duo he’d come up against.

Having watched Teakle play in the reserves against the Academy team last weekend, he doesn’t strike any fear in me.
If he is their go to ruck then I wouldn’t be against Barnett playing.
I thought Sam Day was the better of the Port ruckmen, but having said that he was not that impressive against the Academy babies.

He’s only kicked more goals against the Bulldogs (31.9 from 15 games)

All that said he has an overall W/L record of 2/1/10 against us so he doesn’t beat us very often. It’s his worst h2H record against any club other than 1-4 v Port from his days as a Sun

Geez you went scratching back a fair way. Aside from a 6.2 haul in 2020 I didn't see anything particularly impressive. Held goalless the following year, missed 2022 and 2019 from memory.

I'm sure there was one game he was in everything, full on beast mode and could not convert to save himself. Ended up with 3.6 or something crazy. Couldn't find it though.
