Exactly. Couldn't agree more with DA, Shotties, and JohnG here. Reid goes out and you guys just end up heaping shit on our other Key forwards as they get ripped apart next week.

If he was getting beaten one out every week then I'd want him dropped too, but he isn't. He's taking at least 2 defenders with him everywhere he goes and in previous weeks that's brought our other goal kicking options into the game. This week the crows were just too slick across half back for us to deal with.

Agree. And in that third term it was evident that Goodes was allowed space at Full Forward to lead into. With two guys focused on Reid Goodes got a mountain of space to lead to and O'Keefe was able to bring himself into the game.

No one thinks Reids form cant improve, it most certainly can but to drop him, particulary if Goodes goes is the wrong move.

I feel disappointed with the loss coz I think I got well ahead of myself with the success of the swans. Got excited by the streak, the media attention and the idea of Grand Finals and premierships (maybe I'm not the only one).

The swans are a developing team. Its the best part about them. We get to watch some young hard working boys become men, expert at their trade.

Players are going to have good games and at other times they're not. Get match experience still adds to their skills and will be useful down the track.

Would we have been so concerned had Jetta's snap in the final quarter had been just two feet to the left and had Goodes not pulled a hip abductor and taken his mark?

Long season. Lets learn and apply but lets enjoy a team on a journey not one already at a destination.

I'm ashamed that you are a Swans supporter.
That's the kind of crap I'd expect from other team's ferrels but I guess we've got them too. Pull your heads in idiots. We were beaten by a quality team.:(

Agreed. Well done crows, too good for us as usual. Beaten by a team that was more composed, more determined and just better. No excuses.

Adelaide are a quality side and it was an absolute cracker of a game. Both sides deserving to win but Adelaide got there and well done to them. Adelaide were terrifically composed in defence under enormous pressure all night and that won it for them IMO. They always hit targets, won more contests than they lost down back and were just really, really solid. We were pumping it inside 50 over and over but they didn't wilt.

We had our chances. ****, we had so many chances. Jetta had a ludicrously good game but his kick that was supposed to go to an unmanned Reid that went OOF and his snap really he should have done better with. But I won't linger on them, because he was absolutely brilliant tonight.

Kennedy good again. Grundy I thought did well too down back. The delivery to Walker was first class and Ted got burned a few times. **** me, can Walker kick or what?

Dangerfield is a beast. Loved Jude's run down on him though.

Goodes going off obviously hurt badly. He was torching Ricky Henderson (I don't know why a change wasn't made there) and if he didn't get hurt, who knows?

A horribly disappointing end but our comebacks in the 2nd and 4th quarters were incredibly exhilarating.

I've had a pretty awful day and this has just compounded it. The coaching staff made some bad initial mistakes, but our midfield's performance fluctuated and our defence wasn't able to control their forward line at all. Whoever decided Hanners should be hanging around halfback line should be shot. Looked out of depth and it cost us goals.

Dangerfield just tore it up, but the fact that he just ket getting to the contest winning clearances means we should have made sure he had pressure on him at all times. Adeladie's mids and Dangerfield (who just stole the ball from his hand a couple of times) really did a number on Joey, too bad we couldn't do the same teamwork.

Our forward line...we'll nothings really changed in that respect, but Goodes going down was a bit of a nail in the coffin. Unfortunately our mids only brought more intensity after he left the field.

We certainly had some good patches, some awful ones and wasted critical opportunities when Adelaide capitalised on them all. It wasn't a very enjoyable game to watch and I think there will be some players cringing after watching the replay. Some really nuffie plays at critical times.

On the other hand, Lewis Jetta!:heart::heart: I was critical of him last year, but that was a really good game and he is having a career defining season. He certainly put in and was pretty inspirational at times. I really hope he doesn't get down about that last miss though, because some players tend to take those moments really personally and feel like they let their teammates down. He almost won us that game, he definitely didn't lose it.

A thoroughly disappointing game. but the team and coaches can learn from some of those critical mistakes. 5 early wins don't define a season and certainly, neither does one loss.

Well said! Pretty much how I saw things tonight.

TDL has really improved his attack on the ball/man from all reports, but you're prepared to rule him out and tell me not to judge? Morton has a lot of talent I agree, but 40 goals 2-3 years ago means nothing now.

I'd back TDL ahead of Morton at this stage without second guessing it at all.

From all reports? That's what you're going on? Isn't that second guessing?

Damn that was a close game, thought we really missed mumford today. Seabys effort was admirable but he got creamed.

Brenton Sanderson gets his revenge for Nick Davis ending his career in 2005...

I thought the crows were very good tonight and our midfield wad beaten on the night. We did well to come back, and looked dangerous with Goodes at FF. Reid is struggling but I think we needed one extra tall. Encouraged by O'Keefe's return to goalkicking form, he was actually quite effective as a marking target. Kennedy wasn't able to bust packs as he usually does tonight, think that was a measure of the Crows' pressure. They used the ball extremely well. No disgrace losing to them at all, they are now 5-1 with us if I'm not wrong. As expected, the Tigers will be a tough test next week, but tonight hasn't changed my view that we can still finish top 4.

Horse needs to make better decisions with his sub...we need a burst player off the sub not a tall...Everitt should've started.

I warned against this in the pre-game thread but predicted he would be sub. Everitt can play 3 solid quarters but his first is never good.

I'm pretty unfussed about the loss. Once Goodes went down I thought we were goners. I was pleasantly surprised we almost took the points. True grit.

Most of our players were good. Goodes and Jetta brilliant. Benny McGlynn disappointed me most. I had hoped he would be finding form by now but seems to be struggling to recapture his best.

Criticism of Reid is fine. He had chances but missed them. Nonetheless he is the best forward we have (excepting Goodes) and he takes out two defenders while bringing the ball to ground. Our crumbers just couldn't capitalise.

In the end a chance either way and we would have had our SCG bogey team. Adelaide are a vastly improved side and yet we've improved vastly against them. The loss is a reality check but let's not throw out the baby with the bath water.

Hope our champion is back soon and we get our forward blues sorted.

it's the drink doing the talking & he won't last too long on here. The sobbing will begin soon as he passes through the different stages of the drink.

Tired of him long ago!

i dont drink, you judgemental prick.... who are you to judge someone you dont know, i have passion thats the difference between most fickle swans supporters.. 23,000 tonight, and we were 5=0.. says it all

And how good was jetta? Every time he got the ball, he did something with it, except for the last two inside 50s :(

On Joey, he might have ended up with a fair bit of the ball but I agree, the crows definitely did a number on us at the stoppages.

The coaches post weekly reserves reports and there are a number of ressies watchers who post reports on here and RWO.

Well aware of that Shotties but the proof lies in the fact that he's not getting a game in the seniors...and in consideration of his obvious goal kicking talents! I enjoy what the Ressie watchers provide us week in, week out but it's the match committee and more importantly the coaching panel that judge the best 22 for each match and he's not in their calculations after having a couple of years to prove himself. I'm a massive fan of TDL except for his defensive qualities.

jacobs killed him, an ex blue reject.. the sooner pyke comes in, the better.. seaby is terrible imo

Just because the blues couldn't find room for him doesn't mean he's shit. Jacobs was a quality ruckman at Carlton and was always going to succeed elsewhere. Apart from tonight Seaby has been a pretty good backup ruckman IMO.
