It's going to suck when they ban them all and we can only do two trades.
Haha, that's what I was thinking. I've only got Heppell and Goddard so it doesn't really bother me, I was just curious if people were starting to plan just in case or not.

I only have those two as well but will probably bring in Watson down the line. I would think there be some kind of contingency in place if this happens though, time will tell I guess but you watch - no bans will be handed out to the players.

I would like to get a bet on this - Essendon is a bit of a cash cow itself.

Talk tough, then broker soft deal a la Melbourne tanking.

Edit: Also this from afl.com.au:

"The Casey Scorpions enjoyed a 23-point win over Williamstown, with ...Lynden Dunn among the best players...Dunn's 35 possessions, 11 marks and two goals was described by development coach Paul Satterley as the "near perfect game".
This translates to 432 DT points if my calculations are correct. Get on!

Hodge > Watson
Lucas > Laird by moving Goodes to mid bench.

Was going to just do a straight Goodes to Laird trade but its time for Lucas to go. You know its a failed midpricer when hes sitting on the bench because you're more confident O'Meara will outscore him.

You hold Lucas for five weeks through a tough run of opponents and then trade him out just before he plays Melbourne? Not to mention Carlton's draw for the following month.

Damn you now you made me 2nd guess everything. With Carltons run Maybe Murphy would be better than Watson (especially with this drugs thing). Lucas could smash out a big one against Melbourne, no Gibbs too means more ball for him. But if Lucas does what he has done all season and only scores 80 then its just not worth keeping him.

I was on the fence about Watson. Drugs scandal swayed me.

This week I've gone

Steven -> Johnson
Pittard -> Laird

Have $361,500 for upgrades next week. Swallow first on list, buddy if I can afford him, maybe Vlaustin. Priddis a lock the week after.

Bro this is Round 6, not Round 1. Have you even looked at how well Essendon and Watson are travelling? The drug scandal has done nothing but whip them into a form friendly frenzy. Watson plays GWS this week... If you have time check this out: http://www.fanfooty.com.au/players/year.php?firstname=Steve&surname=Johnson&year=2012

Johnson scored a 163, 148 ,150 against Melbourne, Bulldogs and GWS respectively. Was pretty average the rest of the time. Still a good pick but Watson is much more consistent.

Out :- Viney
Fyfe

In:- D Pearce
Stevie j

Need a DPP to get Goodes to Mids bench .... don't have enough for Hartlett or above in that role, hence Pearce

Trading him. I hate Hamstring injuries, have a nasty habit of hanging around.

If I had a guess I would back him to be out for more than 1 but I don't mind if he is back anyway. I don't have Hartlett and his price is on its way up.

There is a level of irony that you are picking up Hartlett after what you said about hamstring injuries!!

with Pittard and Gibbs injured as well as Goodes out in the backline :(

Gibbs - Laird
& with the extra cash
Viney - Stanton in the midfield giving me 4 Essendon players to clean up against GWS, unfortunately no Carlton players now though :/

But if Lucas does what he has done all season and only scores 80 then its just not worth keeping him.

I would wait at least one week to find out if I were you. I have no stats to back this up, but Melbourne seem to give up points like an expansion team.

Lucas has done OK at his price so far without killing it like you hoped, you must be going well if he is one of your biggest problems.

new idea guys just popped into my head which is more stable?

- hoff/gibbs > SJ/hartlett and no back cover
- hoff/gibbs > birch/hartlett and heath as back cover (but miss out on SJ)

...realised hartlett was DPP and i had mates in mids :)

I wouldn't say he is my biggest problem as such (although he made me lose last week when I played him on the ground over O'Meara). I just can't see him gaining that much more $$ and having that much money just sitting on the bench seems silly. I need some extra cash to get Hodge the hell out of my side and Watson or Murphy in. Blicavs or Rowe to Gawn isn't enough. Its gotta be out of Goodes(suspension), Pittard (injury) or Lucas(shit). Comes down to who I can still squeeze a few $$ out of.

I'm going to give Hodge one more week. I still think he could come good and be a very good pick but his last two weeks have been very uninspiring.
At the start of the week I was like "**** this Hodge is the first to leave my team and will never ever come back", but now I am kinda thinking the same as you.

The guy truly is a star, he got 0 points at quarter time last week, when they finally chucked him in the midfield at the end he actually scored. That being said he is going to lose money this week, but I can see him pumping out a 100 as soon as I drop him.

Hawks have a pretty solid draw coming up as well

That could be a negative though as some of their players may be rested. I'm going to give Hodge two weeks to prove me wrong or else he's gone.
Do you think they would rest players this early in the season though? Hawks bye is also coming up after their easy run
