Thinking; Viney > Scotland
then Scotland back for Goodes
goodes > SJ
then SJ forward Dwyer bench mid
Nice,

To above poster trading Gibbs is definitely something I have considered. With a score of 52 he won't be any more expensive and is most likely going to lose value slightly if you cant get him back straight away I don't think it will hurt too much as to me he has hardly been lighting it up as an absolute must have. Sure everyone will get him but I only have 3 premiums at the moment and one is Gibbs, Could easily see myself trading Gibbs and upgrading Goodes to have Birchall, Scotland, Heppell, Hartlett, Goddard as 5 possible premiums and aim for Gibbs later.

My thoughts exactly, this is making one of my backline upgrades a lot easier by trading Gibbs out now and then picking him back up in a couple of weeks when he bottoms out as my 4th or 5th premo depending on how things are shaping up

As usual, 2 trades per week is not enough!

So here's what I am thinking of doing:

Viney -> Hipperd (via Goodes DDP and bench him)
Gibbs -> Scotland

Still tossing up between Hipperd/Harlett/Heppell/Burgyone, thoughts guys? :)

Change of plans again.. came to my senses and realised that points need to be kept on being made.

Gibbs > Scotland
Neade > SJ

Are you trading Gibbs because he is missing this week or because he MAY miss more?

Bit confused as to why you would trade him out when he is clearly a top 4 defender.

Pillager can justify himself but trade seems fair for mine.

This year all about points on field every week, the concept of keepers is dead. Team players wil flow in and out all year based on injuriies and matchups.

Gibbs has a 50 rolling through so can be picked back up in a few weeks at a nice price as well, not like he's gone for good.

This round I've gone with...

Goodes > S.Johnson (I had goodes in my midfield to cover for Crouch injury and Viney not playing, swapped out K.Mitchell for Hutchins last round)
Currie > Gawn

Would rather have preferred to have ditched Crouch for S.J instead of Goodes but considering I only have $100 left after these trades... Looking to swap out the Hoff for a mid next round and put Steve J in the forwards. Would've just done a straight hoff for sj if I if wasn't for goodes susp, pittards injury and gibbs cloud...

This.

Plus the fact that I do not really know the extent of his injury, anybody got any inside info?

Gibbs will certainly make his way back into my team.

Team is struggling, players going down all around me, and yeah, it's pretty much just plugging the holes of a sinking ship with blutak this week!

Have been forced to go Gibbs to Heppell (gonna need him at some point, and Gibbs will drop nicely in price when he gets back), and then I simply had to dump JPK for Ablett (can't afford to keep a guy who is costing me 20-30 points each week averaging just over 85). Only leaves me with 52k in the bank, but I'll get some cash in next week. One of the Port defenders to Vlaustin is almost a definite, and then may look to upgrade Wines to a Watson or another fallen mid premium (only if he struggles to get over his BE of 48). JJK is looking like a keeper for me down forward, too many issues elsewhere!

Have $254k in the bank and looking at:
Bartel/Hoff to SJ
McVeigh to Watson
or
Sinclair to Gawn / Hoff to SJ

Goodes to Birchall

Currently ranked 2993 and winless even though I've got the highest total score in my league. The DT gods are being very unkind.

After a lot of stuffing around I've decided to give up on Bartel.

Bartel & Viney for Watson & Paparone.

Also thought about SJ instead of Jobe but he was too good to refuse at his lowest price plus playing GWS. No doubt he'll be rested and my plans change again.

Giving Jacobs one last chance and holding Gibbs and Goodes at this stage of the week. Hopefully at least 2 Port rookies play otherwise I cop a donut. But one might go next week along with one of Neade, Caff or Dwyer.

My team this week completely wrecked. Gibbs, Goodes, Pittard all outs. Even if Pittard somehow makes a miraculous recovery to play, he'll surely get the vest. Westhoff has to stay !!:eek:

Benching Goodes. Gibbs to be traded as I need the cash, get him back once his 54 is out of circulation.

Gibbs > Scotland
Pittard > Docherty or Laird?

Already playing Terlich, Vlastuin.

Sorry for double post but can't edit or delete prev post? Defensive crisis is completely killing my brain..
Defenders- Heppell, Goddard, Gibbs, Terlich, Pittard, Vlastuin, Docherty, Goodes.
Westhoff in the fwd line!

Option 1.
Gibbs > Scotland.
Pittard > Laird.
125k balance.

Pros - Laird reasonable cash cow, Docherty stays on the bench.
Cons- No Gawn, Westhoff has to play and almost certainly bleed cash.

Option 2.
Westhoff > Gawn. I have to play Rowe or Macaffer as F6, or alternatively Gawn as R2?
Gibbs > Scotland.
250K balance.

Pros- Westhoff out, Gawn seems like biggest cash cow this round. Easy premo upgrade next wk- MF premo or Stevie J.
Cons- Goodes, Pittard benched, so no def emergency, and Docherty on the field, which is hardly helping my anxiety levels given his vest risk.

Anybody playing Doc on the field with confidence this week? I feel Doc has shown enough that if he starts, he'll get a 70 this week given he's vs. Sydney away.
Alternatively, who's backing Westhoff to get back to a ton against North?

Gibbs out for 1 game, Goodes out for 2.

Gibbs is a premium keeper, Goodes is a cash cow. You eventually want 6 of these 7 players in your backline by the end of the year: Goddard, Birchall, Gibbs, Heppell, Hartlett, Scotland and Waters. Goodes has scored well but not really enough to be a D6 keeper. In addition to this, you have Docherty and Laird on the boil and Vlastuin coming on next week- this is some very nice downgrade potential. Although Goodes, Stevenson and Pittard have yet to "peak", the timing of your downgrades is important.

Lots of sideways trading going on? Personally, I'm downgrading Goodes and benching Gibbs.

100% my thoughts.

I must admit I am one of these people trading Gibbs out. I guess I am a little luckier than some where I already have 4 premo's in defence due to upgrades early. I will be getting Gibbs back in my side in 2/3 weeks though.

The plan is Gibbs --> Laird and Hodge --> S.Johnson. (Getting SJ just before his price jump) 300K in bank.

Doing this then allows for Monfries --> Vlastuin and Bartel --> Franklin (Getting Franklin after his drop and Vlas on the bubble)

Which then allows for Whitfield --> Pendlebury and Goodes --> Gibbs. (Whitfield maxxed out, Gibbs after his drop of 20/30K with the 50 still in his rolling average and get Goodes' final price jump)

Without getting rid of Gibbs this week I can't do any of that.

If Vlas doesn't get picked or spuds it up I can just go for the straight 2 premo upgrades next week.

Of course this all completely relies on no injuries/suspensions... Which we all know probably won't happen because plans never work in DT! o_O

I'm actually considering accepting a zero or two this week.

I'm thinking of downgrading Wright to Mayes, upgrading a Port Rookie to Hartlett.

If I keep Goodes and Gibbs, I need Pittard, Stevenson and Heath to play. If one misses, I can upgrade who ever is not playing to Hartlett. If 2 miss, I'll cop a zero.

Round 7: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Hartlett, Harbrow, Port Rookie - Goodes, Port Rookie.
Round 8: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Hartlett, Harbrow**, Goodes- Vlastuin, Port Rookie.

So by that stage my D6 is averaging 80 (well 79.4). With the money from downgrading (for example Heath to Vlastuin) I can upgrade Harbrow to anyone below Birchall. That would give me 5 Premium backs, Goodes at D6, along with another Port Rookie to downgrade as required.
