Round 7 Trades

Magner > Horsely
Assuming Treloar and J Cameron are back (and hopefully Aaron Hall), I'll pass on Adams

Going to wait another week before upgrading Morris

3 players that are really starting to piss me off & ruining my plans

C.Smith - sitting on my bench- doing nothing and restricting my versatility
A,Hall - Missing again and hardly does anything thats too exciting when he does play (as in big numbers)
T.Couch - Was named and i brought him in due to injuries, was made emergency and hasnt looked like playing.

Rest of my team is exactly how i like it.

You need some decent rookies in there otherwise you won't be able to upgrade later and you will be hit hard in the bye rounds when you don't have cover. Obvious ones would be Adams for one of your forward rookies and Horsley for Magner/Wingard/ C Smith.

Thanks. Much appreciated!

im trading shiel > horsley

goodes > ? beams or sidebottom

not sure wich one, any advice would be appreciated.

With the Goodes injury I have to keep Milera another week, sick of that crab spudding it up for me.

Magner > Horsely
Goodes > Stevie J

I have an easy league opponent this week so will hold off on trading Goodsey out til next week and do a double downgrade/cash grab, anybody know what Kennedy's (GWS Version) b/e will be??? Cheers in advance

I have had 10 trades until now. Being a DT newbie i just couldnt resist trading when a player underperformed. So this week Im planning to have Magner -> Hoskley and now Goodes -> Beams. I will have 12 trades left. What is the number of trade should i be aiming for by round 11. The way i am going right now ...0 by round 11

Coniglio, Magner and Shield all have awesome breakevens... man this is going to be a last minute thing.

I'm thinking that I might miss out on Adams. I need to make a few different moves and if Adams bums out after this week then I will have an advantage over most.

You're going to use between 6-9 trades from Rds 11-13 to cover zeroes. Have you improved your side, or done a stack of sideways trades?

Between fixing mistakes and the number of LTIs most of us have used more trades than we'd like, but you're skating on very thin ice.

Is that really a given?

I wouldn't make a sideways trade to avoid a single 0 any other week unless it's nearing the end of the season and I'm comfortable with my trades in hand. Why would the bye weeks be any different?

^This. I need to prepare my side to minimise bye round zeros and Horsley fits the bill.

I'll save a Goodes trade for later. Assuming he has a couple of slow 'warm up' games after he is fit again, there will be other forwards up and firing ready to score equal or greater than him.

Couch was named BOG in Casey's 8 goal win against Geelong on Saturday, but I've just about given up hope of him playing, I mean, our midfield is going so well. I never started with him, but if he gets a chance he may be a good down grade target in coming weeks.

You make a good point gp, seems like everyone is worrying about doughnuts during the bye rounds but we're all going to cop a few over the 3 weeks even if we sideways trade. The common misconception that people who are not going to trade heavily or at all during bye rounds are only interested in League wins is not necessarily the case.

For instance, I've burnt through 9 trades already and will use 2 more this week and another (an upgrade) the week after, leaving me with only 12. But I am weeding out my Rd 11 players with my trades in the mean time, which will hopefully give me a very high Rd 11 score (say 2300+) to make up for an expected 1600-1700 score in Rd13. That's a 1900-2000 average over those 2 bye rounds. Will use 2 sideways trades during Rd 12 to try and score 1800+. I'll take that any day of the week and still have 10 trades left to hopefully come home strong in the back half of the season. My point is using 9 trades during the bye rounds may not put you ahead as far as people think it will.

^this.

I'm not wasting 6-9 trades just to avoid zeroes, when everyone else is going to be facing the same issues. Why do it? The only trades I will make in that time are ones which benefit my team, not short term gain trades which bring in players you wouldnt bring in in any other circumstance. After using that amount of trades anyways, you probably wouldnt be able to afford bringing in that guy which you woudlnt bring in beforehand because he messed with your game plan.

Yes I will be trying as hard as I can to avoid the donut during those rounds, but the trades I make will be like any other I make. To improve my team :thumbsu:

I'm fed up with gibbs, he is my favourite player, but really his dreamteam points are being sacrificed with his role down back. all my cash cows are still mooing so have decided

Gibbs>Horslay (short term will ave bout the same if not more and making heaps of cash)
Kennedy> Adams

i know there maybe some protest from people on this board about trading gibbs, but he is basically getting the same scores as some rookies and is not looking like a keeper, so will trade him out to earn heaps of money and take advantage of all the mid cows. with this i will get around 440K and will be able to upgrade 2 rookies next week. (prob magner and ellis) i am not worried about trades at the moment because have 20 at the moment (been very lucky with injuries having none to my recollection)

Feeling the same way with Gibbs mate. He will keep leaking cash so I Am thinking about getting rid of him too. He isn't playing a midfield role and isn't having the breakout season I thought he would. Horsley is a must and he will average the same as Gibbs for the next few week IMO. Never like downgrading a premium but in this case I think it is worth it. Generate the cash and upgrade the maxed out cash cows over the next fortnight.

What do people think of Lewis as a swap for Goodes? Averaging 90 and super consistent.

Robbo/beams/Sidey/Chappy or popular choices, but just thought I would put this one out there. Doesn't have as big ceiling as the others but may be a good point of difference if you need someone different in the forward line.

You wouldn't believe the amount of crap I copped on here for trading Gibbs to Greene after Rd 2. (Saw the writing on the wall as soon as he went back to defence) Gibbs averaging 91 & Greene averaging 94. That trade also gave me enough cash to upgrade a non playing def rookie (L Brown) to Deledio that week and he's been the highest averaging defender this year so far. To think I got laughed at by BF's so called DT experts when I said that was a WINNING trade.
