Round 8 Trades

exactly - why the hell would you trade out a consistent backman when they are as rare as hens teeth?

Lol, re read the post it clearly states that he is wants to trade Shaw IN...not OUT :p

Definetely don't trade out Sam Fisher. I've never been a big fan of Mcphee but Waters's form of late has been absolutely terrible, hard to say who is going to pick up form, but I personally am going to stick with Waters (i dont have Mcphee).

The questions would be:
1 - Who would be the better backup (7th) midfielder to keep - Palmer or Houli?
2 - Too dangerous to have the big 3 Geelong midfielders?
3 - The Riewoldt/B.Johnson trade? other forward trade out options would be Medhurst, Porplyzia, Rioli, Deledio

(midfield would be Bartel, Corey, Cross, K.Cornes, Ablett, Stevens, (Palmer/Houli, Browne))

Thoughts?

1 - Neither. You should have enough money for better

2 - No. I have Corey + Ablett atm. Aiming for Bartel and maybe a Kelly / Ling.

3 - Riewoldt out, Chapman / O'keefe in

This week, I will be acquiring Corey at the expense of one N. Jones... Which of the following two trades do I do to earn the requisite extra quid?

1. Matty Stokes ---> B. Johnson... makes me $32k (which is enough) and I get a premium in place of an 2nd tier premium.

2. Craig Bird ---> Browne... makes me $92K, and has the potential to make me another $100K if Browne plays another 3 or 4 solid games...

I want to get Johnson in anyway at some point, but If I wait on this trade I will probably forfeit much of the $32, because Johnson has a low breakeven and stokes is suspended (has a high BE anyway)...

But if I wait on the Bird -> Browne trade then I just miss it altogether, and have to wait for another good cash cow replacement instead of Browne, who is a very good prospect... I have 15 trades left so there is scope to trade Browne out for yet another rookie, and thus make even more money... On the other hand, Bird could well make another $30K.

2nd option easily. Stokes is killing it this, no reason to trade him really. Plus he plays for geelong which is a bonus.

Browne to bird makes you extra cash also. Pretty straight forward i think.

What do you people think of

This week: Bird > Browne
Rioli > Okeefe

Next Week: McKinley > Rookie (ex. Jay Neagle)
Gamble > Chapman

Leaving me with

Matthew Pavlich
Alan Didak
Brad Johnson
Jonathan Brown
Ryan Okeefe
Paul Chapman
Jason Porplyzia

what does everyone think of keeping riewoldt and having tippet coming in for him..

that would allow for me to trade nathan jones for swan or scotland

that is the hard decision who to get between swan and scotland because if i get scotland that means that i can trade mooney for brad johnson?

so who do i get scotland or swan
??????????????????????????????

I would trade Riewoldt, You cant have that much talent (or cash) sitting on your bench for near half a season.

One simply question:

Is Browne a great option or do we pass on him?

Will he play games? Does it make sense with the Carlton list (incl returning players)? Is he physically and mentally ready for AFL?

This is a crucial trade - a lot hangs on it for the ultimate make up for my team and I don't want to get it wrong. Otherwise I will wait for Cotchin.

Ok, now i don't want to say he is a must but i think he is very good option IMO. This is the injury list of players who are IMO ahead (bold) of or even with Browne for a starting 22 spot,

Bannister - Round 10
Hadley - Round 8
Hartlett - Round 9-10
Thornton - Round 12
Walker - Round 10-11
Jackson - Round 10

Four spots are being taken in our side that need to be dropped to make way for the players above. At the moment i can see three players (Wiggins, Ellard, O'hAlpain) who would be dropped before Browne. Grigg, Bentick or Browne would that fourth spot so he is on the cusp of a 22 spot, if not in it full time already. I am picking him this week simple because i believe he will be the best option, along with Cotchin, to produce handy scores consistently. He has shown potential to score well already, is very confident in himself, very composed for a first year player and is not afraid to put his body on the line. Should play most games unless he string two or three horrible games together.

Half a season? It's 3 - 4 weeks, so at most 3 games. But go right ahead, trade him ;)

Mate, wouldn't be to confident it is three-four, there are many different reports but the latest i've heard, which was from the St.Kilda physio himself on SEN is that it could be up to seven. I'm not saying it will be 7, i just think we should just wait an see because it is all up in the air at the moment.

still got hill in my team:mad:

cant find anyone to downgrade him for.

can only see neagle, valenti or maybe josh kennedy.

which would be the best option??

Up to seven still isn't half a season. I'm sure we will get a clearer picture before lockout anyway, so I think it's best just to wait and see.

472nd, $111800 left. just wish i had done hill to bj last round woulda been sitting 277th.

need symes to play so i can simply do hill to bj before its too late. otherwise i think i should trade symes to a gun.
however if i decided to trade pfeiffer i would have $282,800. kennelly 304k but going up, mcphee 304k dont like though, ladson308k, gilbee299k, milburn 299k, osbourne 286k. so could wait to do that except pfeiffer will go up if he plays and hill is going down.

thoughts are highly appreciated. i know 1 thing for sure though and that is that emergencies not playing are gonna hurt me, especially dempsey.
