Lets hope for a better performance after 1/2 time this week Roys..we went missing in the third quarter...let play all four and bury these Demons and put em in their box!!

Well we got a 31-point lesson after being within a goal around the 3/4 time mark!

The Roys didn't have four quarters in 'em for the second week running. Last round it was the 3rd quarter, this time it was the last. Kind of like bursting a pimple - now we have the blemish near to the surface and hopefully with a bit more effort, next week the lapse will occur in the fifth stanza!

Nevertheless, there are three other reasons the Roys lost this match :
3. In the first quarter we skipped out to a handy lead but didn't seem to have enough parent-child connection to want to protect it from assault. When the Demons came for that lead, we submitted it far too easily.
2. Kicking. Again and again, kicking for goal seems to be something short of shoddy. No shortage of offenders.
1. The Mount Buller Demons. A slick, potent, cohesive unit that opponents can't afford to take their mind off for even a moment. We were treated to a display of applied adeptness on Friday evening. Belief in themselves was so strong I broke three spoons trying to stir it. Twice the Demons were put under enormous pressure; early when the Roys took initial control of the match, and in the third when the Roys looked like loading up for an all-out assault. You lot have a good unit, possibly the best one we've currently seen thus far in the rounds we've played. Osmodiar ... wow.

For the Roys, Grimreepah up forward for a change did his darndest, JakeThePeg was held early but banged a couple through later, and the midfield were, as usual, very handy. But we're not winning matches, and near enough ain't good enough. That nine-letter word called potential ... well we at the Roys knew what Rob Shaw thought of it!

I'm pissed off! O.K we lost but let's not get down, the season is a long one and we can still come back. We're tougher than that. We don't give in , we just try harder!

Another rough loss :(

Here's the Dees match report :
Dees over Gorillas

Huge Win For Confidence

The Demons, at the start of the year, would have highlighted this clash as a huge on for their finals hopes in 2007.

Before last round, the match was dismissed as a fizzler.

The Gorillas looked flat, the Dees full of running.

And the Dees started with a selection gamble, Tarkyn_24 up forward for the squad.

However, the opposition jumped the gun early and really put the strain on the Dees senior players.

The Roys put 2.2 on the board and charged ahead easily while the Dees messed about. However, they got back in and got a sniff through a Deestroy behind.

The Roys pushed out to a 19 point lead before Deestroy added another minor score.

Jarryd_S then put on a wonderful goal to pull the margain back to 12.

Only Sum0005 messing around on the final siren stopped the Dees from being just a goal down.

Play restarted and Osmodiar showed what he was made of with a goal to bring the margain to 6.

Tarkyn_24 then looked to tie the scores, but nerves settled in and he missed.

Deledio_To_Tambling made amends with great defensive pressure for the goal.

Grimreepah then conceded a behind so the score pushed out to a 2 point lead for the Dees.

Deestroy then showed his metal with a booming goal after an Osmodiar pass.

In the next bounce, Deestroy got it long to Tarkyn_24, who was told to play on after a very good "mark". As a result he hacked his kick and kept the Roys in it.

Osmodiar helped protect the lead with yet another goal.

Emperor and Captain Pump each chimed in one of their own shortly after, and the game seemed dead.

Grimreepah battled on for the Roys as they tried to get back in the game.

After Grimreepah and Marroon and Blue's efforts, the Roys trailed by 8 at the half, but deserved to be much further behind.

A dead third quarter with nothing of note apart from a slight comeback by the Roys, 3 points to the Dees at 3 quarter time.

Then the onslaught of goals came, with Deledio to Tambling twice, V_Townsend, Rick James, JDC and Daniel138 adding onto the onslaught.

The fat lady sang, way before the end, as the Dees slammed home a win by 31 points, but Melbourne Martin, on the siren, gave a contender of mark of the year to those fans who stayed to see the game out.

Osmodiar - 8 - Absolute star.
SmookeyJ- 4 -7 Marks, a great effort in that area. Pity he didn't work hard at any other stage around the ground, picking up his last possession as a Free.
PortMagpies04 - 3 - 7 touches in 100% game time, and didn't really do too much defencive work. Worrying signs.
Jarryd_S - 2 - One goal does not a player make.
Mizza - 4 - Another in danger of losing his spot.
CaptainDavey- 3.5 - Forget tonight.
Emperor - 8 - Another game close to BOG. Absolutely wonderful.
JDC- 9 - Form player of the comp now. Two BOG's in two weeks.
Sum0005 - 2.5 - Nothing here.
Daniel138 - 4 - Nothing special.
RoganSaint - 5 -Minimum of fuss today, but still effective.
Headless - 5.5 - Played like a headless chook at stages, but also played with flair???
MelbourneMartin- 3 - Flew high late. Disappointing.
DelediotoTambling - 7 - Goals very important to win, adding team confidence. Needs to work further up the ground.
RickJames - 2.5 - Didn't play much. Didn't deserve to.
Deestroy - 7 - Huge at the start but fell away dramatically.
V_Townsend - 4 - Very quiet, but had scoring output.
Tarkyn_24 - 4 - A poor ouput, only 11 touches. No more HFF's.
Captain Pump - 1.5 -Didn't use game time well.
Dont Bowl There - 7 - One of the better players.

Hopefully we'll see a repeat of last years performances after we tossed the Bombers - think it was 6 in a row.

Prepare for some "rotation" re selection this week. (Sorry about the team being posted late - thanks Mobbs for trying to cover for us. I'm back on deck for a few weeks so should be right)
