I have been bitten too many times by crappy Aussie sports games so I won't spend more then $60.00 on this.

Hopefully it will hit that price before next season.

If you're patient, you could pre-order the UK version from http://www.ozgameshop.com/xbox-360-games/rugby-league-live-2-game-xbox-360 for $61AU (free shipping). Doesn't release until November 16 though, plus I think the front cover prioritizes Super League ahead of NRL. But it's the same game and features. No different to FIFA across different regions.

Yeah sure that. Will check on PS3.

Just bought this. :)

Also, FWIW it's only $79 at JB.

$79 is too much.

Oh woops, should've asked what platform.

Fair enough.

Sorry meant to say "saw" not "sure".

That made me look like a jerk.:D

I could easily afford the $79 but better games are coming out and I just reckon this will gather dust.

First impression (I never played RLL1) is I feel that the game is a bit too fast-paced (about +10%), which gives it more of an arcade-y type feel, and shies away from the realism of the rest of the game (especially compared to the slower nature of the kick-off/converstion animations). Also considering I've been playing FIFA 13 for the last week. Everyone sprints as though they're Lewis Jetta.

Visually the game looks terrific. Presentation of menus, player and stadium graphics (AAMI Park looks incredible!), all great. Career mode looks to have great depth.

I'm new to this (and am not really a League fan. Purchased this to gain some insight into how AFL Live 2 may improve) so I can't comment with much knowledge of how the gameplay fares when it comes to catching the feel of a true League game. But I'm enjoying myself thus far, and will definitely enjoy it more once I get more of a grip on everything.

It starts fast but players get worn down as the match progresses, especially if you use forwards well early with lots of hit ups.

You probably have an advantage having not played the previous ones as many are having issues with the controller as the buttons have changed a bit (muscle memory).

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I'm a few hours in now and am definitely enjoying it. As a newb, still trying to get some sort of skill down before taking on Career or Online mode.

As for the control layout, will we see a similar change to AFL 2 (assuming it's happening :p) such as the RT button for sprint instead of RB? (I realize you most likely can't answer this.) Also I love both the break tackle control method (RT+RS) and the ability to side step - would love to see these implemented as well.

Keep up the good work Ross! :)

EDIT: Just a note on player fatigue affecting speed of movement. I was more referring to just player movement in general. A player can seemingly move from a standing start at any point in the game, 15m in less than a second. The pace of the game as a whole is too fast.

One thing that's great about the EA games is that there's an option to choose different game speeds. I just think that if gameplay is slowed down (even just 5%), it will open up more opportunity to read the play and perform tactical plays on the fly (more realism), rather than just rushing in your attempts to score.

i wonder if there will be a patch that will allow you to use custom teams/players in the career mode, reading around different forums it seems most people would buy it if this was the case.
