Yes. It allows the players to choose the black top if they think they are being watched by the media. Black is very slimming.
Yes, there will be the main stuff, while the other kits will help in the match simulation/ competitive drills.
Most AFL clubs do it too, North had the training top/ singlet, then white and blue guernseys which were used for match simulation etc.
So they went from one extreme with the names of the suburbs in their jurisdiction (for lack of a better term) making an intricate design to the other with three boring styles in the space of a few years

The suburbs design was an additional training design brought in part way through the season, the majority of last years training designs were plain with stripes across the shoulders.

As shown in the video VIA Careers will replace Allam Property Group as the lower back sponsor for 2016.
I think that that video revealed a heritage/commemorative strip and the new sponsor. The logo shown is an old Panthers logo, so I reckon it'll be on a heritage jersey. The panther leaping through the 50 is not the official logo either, just a stand in now and then

These are the new Widnes Vikings shirts for the 2016 Super League season. Made by O’Neills. The club have unveiled two kits- one black and one white, but have chosen not to have them specifically designated as “home” or “away”
Instead, Vikings skipper Kevin Brown will decide which of the two uniforms the club will wear on each match day, as part of the “Captain’s Call”
The kits use Coolite technology and feature Viking artwork. A single star commemorating their late 80’s World Club Challenge triumph can also be seen on the shirt.
